Meanwhile is there a way of transferring programmes and films recorded on the old PVR to the new Aura PVR either directly or via my PC for a two-stage transfer?
The PVR-9300T uses a proprietary file system so the only way to download the programmes is using HumaxRW software, see the FAQ at https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/humaxrw. Come back and ask questions if you are having problems using it. NB I haven’t managed to copy programmes on to the Aura.

Are there any plans to make the ITV X player on the 4000 operable? I have read that it is not operable because ITV don’t believe the system does enough to protect their programmes from being ripped off. I wonder whether Humax plan an update that would meet ITV’s standards?
I doubt that Humax will put effort into supporting ITVX on the FVP-4000T/5000T. What would be in it for them?

Just purchased a refurbished Humax 2000T to replace a BT youview but cannot seem to get any TV apps. I have seen that iPlayer is not now available but is ITVX still supported or any other Apps.
I think the only TV player the 2000T has had is iPlayer and I don’t think that is supported now. I am certain that it has never had ITVX.

Does anyone else have problems with their Aura rebooting itself while playing back video from a network share using Kodi (v21.1)?
My view is that many apps that aren’t installed by default on the Aura, have problems probably because of the ancient version of Android. If the rumoured major update next year takes place and turns out to be a new Android version then the problems may well decrease.

My phone is on Android version 14. I also tried putting it on my tablet that is using Android 13 but still get the same message.
I am on Android 14 and the app is installed and working for me. I suggest you give Humax support a phone call.

I am aware that the play store isn’t always up to date. Can anyone advise where there is a more up to date Aura app of if in fact there actually is one?
I checked the Humax Web site and couldn’t find anything
Which Android version is your phone using?

I volunteer at a repair non-profit. A customer has brought in a FOX T2 with no power. I’ve checked out the mains input and switch – all OK.
But where to go next?
The power supply board looks OK, except for the capacitors at the mains input end (see photo). Is that brown gunk intentional or not?
Is a circuit diagram available anywhere? (I have searched).
Any help would be much appreciated!
Try posting the question over at https://hummy.tv where there is more expertise on the HDR-FOX T2. Nobody outside Humax has circuit diagrams as far as I know.

It’s now been a month and the Freeview button has not got stuck again and my Aura has worked fine. So it is possible to open up the remote and do adjustments, but do it carefully!
Thank you; that is a very helpful post.

I’ve now got an Aura, and am trying to create the same set-up. The drive is a WD Passport 1Tb, and it seems to work fine and can be formatted on a Mac laptop, passing First Aid, and getting formatted either as exFAT or NTFS (using Tuxera).
One way of doing it is to use FTP. Make sure the FTP server is turned on in the Aura settings. On a Windows 11 laptop I use Filezilla. Connect the drive to the computer, open Filezilla set up the profile for the Aura with the Site manager in Filezilla, General tab, Mine is :
Protocol: FTP
Host IP address of the Aura Port: 2323
Encryption: only use plain FTP
Logon type: normal
User: aura
Password: the Aura PIN
In Filezilla advanced tab
Set the local default directory to be the desired location on the USB drive.
Press the Connect button. You should see a number of directories on the Aura. Select the Recordings directory and then you can choose to see the content ordered by Series, Channel or Time. Double click on the recording to download and it should start downloading. On my network with the Aura connected via Powerline adapters the transfer rate is only about 1MB/s although I think I have seen significantly faster transfers when it is connected directly to the network without the Powerline adapters. Hope that helps.

Or if I connect both boxes to my router is there a way of viewing the programs stored on my HDRfoxsat using my HDR1000s?
I am no expert on the Freesat boxes but my recollection is that the only use for the USB port is software updates.

Hi – we don’t have an aeriel – and we watch tv through internet connection. The drawback of this is there is no EPG. Is it possible to connect a Freeview box (like a Humax box) to our TV without an aeriel connection and just use internet?
As far as I know all the Humax Freeview boxes deliver the guide via the aerial.

Is playback from the Aura via wifi on a Windows computer supported?
Yes it is supported. You need to know that you are connecting to DLNA server. In VLC select Local Network> Universal Plug’n’Play. This should show the Aura 4K Media Server, Click on it and Scroll down to recordings and click on the recording of your choice. Note that if I remember correctly, HD recordings will need to be transcoded by the Aura to a lower resolution.

it is a 499.7gb hdd with 208.5gb free.
sorry im not sure about the state of humax software modifications like hummy so i dont know if its possible to increase this limit? surely its wasteful to only have 500 30 min recordings on a single hard drive…
I agree it is wasteful but the limit was set when the proprietary file system was designed for the 9200T about 20 years ago. Technology has moved on a lot since then and you need a more modern Humax PVR to have an almost unlimited number of recordings.

im trying to record a program but when i hit record on my remote i get a message popping up saying “the limit for the nubmer of recorded programs has been reached”. i have abut 511 programs recorded, and there is about 200gb free on the hard drive. Is there any way to increase the limit of recorded programmes? would hummy or any other software mod fix this?
You have reached the limit of the filesystem for the 9300T (and the the 9200T/9150T). There is nothing you can do except delete some existing recordings. The limits on later Humax recorders are much, much larger.

Just got in from work I can confirm itv1 sd is working however I’m still getting BBC South not East
This suggests to me that the box isn’t tuned correctly. Try doing an automatic channel search.
