Is there a way to change the native recording format of the pvr? so the pvr record in a more widely used format.
No. Basically the box records the broadcast stream as received. Sometimes just changing the file extension can help but that is about the limit.

If no other bright ideas spring to mind then it looks like I’ll have to source a cable to connect to the PC. Is there a definitive article that tells me what to do by any chance?
I think Barry is suggesting reloading the software; see http://www.tynecomp.co.uk/flash9200.html

Spoke a little soon

A bit more guidance please in use of HUMAXRW Gui.
Do I run the GUI exe file first/only and this will find HUMAXRW by itself?
Yes. They need to be in the same directory.

Thanks for your input so far and so soon. I should have also mentioned that the TV connection is scart only.
Do you know what the FULL in the unit display means? I have not had the set long enough to have filled 1TB of memory!
See fifth post in http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/front-panel-display-icons (The FULL signifies the resolution).
but not heard a dickiebird from Humax. Are they usually slow in responding?
You don’t say how slow they have been but my advice is to ring them up. Note that my advice is to return to supplier for exchange as chances are you will get a new one whereas Humax will probably supply a refurbished one.

Quote:There have been a number of similar reports recently.Of the HDR T2 seizing up?
I would regard seizing and crashing as similar which is why I used that terminology rather than identical.

Will try a factory reset tonight and see but if anyone has any ideas or better still a known solution I would be grateful to hear.
There have been a number of similar reports recently. I think a factory reset is worth trying but if the problems persist then the box is probably faulty and should be returned to the supplier for exchange.

System ID 3020.0000,Update 20 May 2010
I think this is the lates update so any suggesdtions very welcome
Yes it is the latest update. The usual fix for this problem on a 9200 is a reset to default settings; have you tried that?

Just returned from my weekend away and sadly the box has not updated automatically overnight! Is the next step to try and update it while the OTA is broadcasting on Monday evening? Excuse my ignorance but is this done by running the Software Automatic Update?
These are the Humax instructions:
1) Select BBC 1
2) Press MENU
3) Select Installation and press OK
4) Enter your password (default is 0000)
5) Select software update and press OK
6) Select manual update and press OK
7) Select search and press OK
The searching will begin and you will receive a message confirming the new software version. Select Yes to confirm and press OK. The box will restart and the software will install (do not switch the box off)

It’s HPTTF 1.00.26
OK. We have a 9200 and a FOX-HDR T2. The 9200 doesn’t have a software version exactly comparable to 1.00.26 (but is usually very accurate at capturing the end of recordings). Perhaps someone else with a 9150/9300 running 1.00.26 can offer some advice.

Not always. Yesterday for example I recorded 4 consecutive half hour programmes on BBC2 and nothing else. Each episode finished at the scheduled time or just before (eg at 2159)and the next started two or three minutes later (eg at 2202). This resulted in losing the end of each progamme and a few moments at the beginning of the next. Frustrating!
What software version is your box using?

This means that if the programme runs over its time the end of the recording is cut off. This is common in the case of BBC programmes. Is there a fix for this which does not involve disabling the auto-tracking and series link functions?
When a recording is cut short, are there other recordings taking place or scheduled to start?

When I search the network for the NAS through storage the Humax come back with ‘no media server detected’.
So does the NAS have a DLNA server and is it enabled?
Is it possible to enter a unc path in the Humax eg \servershare to tell the Humax where my files are located on the network?
Not with the standard firmware. The user community firmware will allow this.

When I last looked into this about 6 months ago there seemed to be some significant problems with how box worked with Panasonic TVs.
We have had an HDR for 12 months and use it with a Panasonic TV. There are no issues that I am aware of with the current software. The only past issue was an ocasional HDMI handshake issue (which was fixed by the last software update) but was only a minor irritation; some other other brands of TV were more seriously affected.
