I’ve set the IP details manually but still it wont behave. In one areea its saying connected but it isnt! I cant ping it either.

So what IP address and gateway are you specifying? What is the IP address of the router?

From the recordings list, when a programme is selected for playback it flashes up a small square with ‘exit’ stated and then bombs back to main tv.

I don’t immediately recognise the symptoms you describe but most problems of this type can be resolved by formatting the disk (which of course erases all recorded programs) from the HDD control menu.

My Foxsat HDR 100GB is locking up when using the EPG. The only way to restore any operation is to cycle power at wall socket.

    Software: HPRSFC1 1.00.17 / 20SEP2011.

A prime example would be Sky Player. Considering they “announced” it on the packaging at launch, sent out beta copies to the press to review it ages ago, they have kept everyone in the dark on what is happening and why it is still AWOL.

To at least put out a press release to say its either cancelled or it is delayed because of reason x, y or z would appease any interested customers.

I agree with you on that point. Given that it was advertised on the packaging of the box, I do think Humax should release some information about the current status.

This is what is so frustrating about Humax though – why not at least broadcast that they are working on certain fixes/improvements even if not going into details about what exactly they are cooking up.

I would guess that the problem is that once you have announced something is in the works then people start getting impatient and demanding it before it is ready. If nothing is announced then work can continue until it is fit for release.

Martin did you know there is a usb connection on the front of the Humax, behind a pull off shield, you can easily download pictures from a usb flash card already loaded with your saved pictures from the PC.

Yes I am well aware of the two USB ports on the HDR thanks but I always prefer to try and answer peoples questions rather than wander off at a tangent, YMMV.

I have connected the Humax HDR-FOX T2 to my LAN via a USB Wi-Fi connector. I can get the Humax portal without any problems. When I try to connect to my computer, which is running Windows 7, I see the computer and the user names.

What exactly are you trying to do when you say “connect” to the computer. Is the computer running a DLNA server? Is media sharing enabled? Is UPnP enabled on the router?

I have no channels in the 800 range and my software version is HPTTF 1.00.26. Should I go ahead with reformatting the hard disk?

That would be my advice. Let us know if it fixes the problem.

I would suggest the most likely cause is that file system is corrupt. Try Barry’s suggestions first but if they don’t help then format the hard disk from “HDD control” on the “Record” menu; this will of course delete all existing recordings. Default password is 0000.

you need to use virus removal software for protection against virus.

    Use McAfee internet security……….

They have a version for the Humax HDR????

I came onto the Forum to ask for advise re my RC that just “died” and found this post from Myhandle. My RC has been non-responsive intermitantly since I purchased the HDR from Amazon a couple of months ago.

I suggest you ring (not email) Humax technical support and explain the problem. In similar circumstances they have sent out new remote controls free of charge.

Are they £40 now Martin or is that a typo, they used to be £30 ish?

They certainly used to be £30; I thought I had read somewhere that the price had gone up but I don’t know for sure.

Hi the blue light info display on the front of my PVR 2000T is very dim and not easily viewed, unless I get very close. Is there any way of making this display brighter and more easily seen.

I am not familiar with a 2000T; do you mean 9200T? If so it is known that the display does get dimmer with age. The only fix is to replace the clock board. A new one can be obtained from Humax for about £40.

With the Humax you can record 2 channels. Some forums say you can then watch a third channel – but is that all other channels or only a limited number?

You can watch a third channel with two recording. If the two recordings are from the same Multiplex then you can watch any other channel. If they are from different multiplexes then you are limited to channels from either of the two multiplexes being recorded. You can see what channel belongs to which multiplex at http://www.dtg.org.uk/industry/dtt_channels.html

If that’s not the case, then presumably if I only do one recording at her place, she will still be able to watch all other channels?

    Correct.

Some have mentioned that you can copy recordings onto an external hard drive or memory stick via USB port. Is that correct?

Yes. Standard definition recordings will be decrypted when copying however high definition recordings will still be encrypted and can only be played on the box on which they were recorded.

I assume that once PVR is connected, you can’t continue to use existing TV remote e.g. as a separate unit to the PVR?

The TV can continue to be used as a separate unit and indeed the Humax remote will control it or you can use the TV remote. If the box is on then you will need to change the source that the TV uses but that usually means pushing one button or put the box into standby when you want to use the TV independently.

I have the 9300t and it has been brilliant. It is about 6 months old and has just started failing to record sound on 1 channel. When programme is about half way thro playback the sound comes on again.

What channel? Does this happen repeatably? Have you tried the alternatives offered by the Audio button (middle button on second row under cover)?
