Could you explain what you mean by interrupted programmes?

but one thing i would ask is ,is it possible for the 9300 to go back to the way it was with out doing anything.it just a thought,a happy one at that
Just format the disk from the HDD Control menu (default password is 0000) and the box will perform as previously but the recordings will be lost.

Yesterday (Monday July 30th 2012) I noticed that when I recorded the simpsons on Channel 4 (uk) it has placed it in the audio and overwritten the proms 2012 part 2 that I have recorded on BBC Radio 3 (uk).
Well known problem. The file system is corrupt. The only easy way to fix it is to watch any important recordings and then format the disk from the HDD Control menu.

I have a Humax HD-FOX T2 box. I live in a region where my aerial picks up both English and Welsh programs.
Far and away the best solution to the problem would be to do a manual tune and eliminate the Welsh channels see Manual tune FAQ; this will also eliminate possible problems with accurate recording when receiving from multiple transmitters.

Before I buy the Fox HDR as a replacement can anyone please tell me if this box will allow me to change the HDMI resolution it outputs to the TV?
Yes there is a VFormat button to cycle through the resolutions.

How do I go about downloading what I need from my PC and installing it on the rogue Humax? You mention a cable – what do I need to get? I have a variety of cables in a box of bits – maybe I actually have what I need.
Try reading http://www.tynecomp.co.uk/flash9200.html for the full details. If you have a computer with a serial port then you only need a serial cable otherwise you need a USB to serial converter as well. I suggest you read the flash9200 page and then come back with questions.

Is it posible to set up a wireless link to a PC to download photographs?
You would want a wireless bridge device such as Link to Netgear WNCE2001

Sadly I have little idea what PVR indexing is, or how the encoding of a programme that the box can demonstrably view could affect the boxes ability to record.
You asked for an explanation of the problem and that seems to be the best we have. My reading is that there is something different about the Olympic Freesat streams (but within the specification) and the Humax is confused.
Have you sent Barry a PM?

Can anyone give an explanation of what the problem is?
Try post 20 in this thread which is from a Humax employee.
Any idea when this is going to be sorted?
Try sending Barry a PM (personal messag).

I want to run humaxrw in recovery mode to remove my recorded programs, format my 9300T and then replace the programs. Martin Liddle has suggested that the author of this may be able to help me overcome errors that have been experienced by other users when replacing the files.
I have alerted xyz321 the author of humaxrw. Lets go one step at a time. Firstly you will need to download humaxrw. Then you will need a USB to SATA converter such as Link to eBay seller.
Turn the power off to the Humax and disconnect the plug from the mains. Don’t be tempted to run the Humax with the lid off. If you do it is very easy to touch the power supply and destroy it.
Remove the lid(five obvious screws if it is like the 9200). Disconnect the connections from the hard drive. Attach the data and power cables from the USB adapter.
Create a directory for humaxrw on the drive of your PC that has the most spare space and preferably at the outer level eg c:humaxrwdir
Start a command prompt Start>Accessories>Command prompt (if you are running Vista or Windows 7 rather than left clicking on command prompt, right click and select Run as administrator)
At the command prompt type
cd humaxrwdir
then type
humaxrw 1: -r -l
with luck this will produce a list of the missing files. If not try
humaxrw 2: -r -l
and so on until you get a list of files. Not how many files are found.
Once you have a list of files type
humaxrw 1: -r -g 1-95
(substitute the number that gave you a listing for the 1: in the line above and the number of files for 95).
This will run for several hours whilst the programs are copied to your PC.
Then disconnect the USB to SATA adapter, reconnect the hard drive. Turn on the Humax and format the disk from the HDD Control menu.
Check that you can now make a recording and then come back for advice on what to do next.

I would suggest that a factory reset should delete any such file if it exists.
Agreed; that sounds a very sensible and relatively easily implemented solution. Barry, have Humax considered this?

OK. Repeated procedure, and it is now working, but reception is very poor – constantly breaking up to the point of being unwatchable.
You probably need to manually tune see Link to manual tune FAQ
I have deleted quite a lot of the channels that the Humax found.
Did that include channels numbered above 800? If so you definitely need to manually tune.

I wonder if the software can cope with deleting a huge HD film. I have noticed that it takes 15-20 seconds to delete a 1 hour HD programme with version 1.01.09 – which seems slow to me.
The HDR uses the Linux EXT3 file system and it is well know that deletion of large files is slow on any computer using EXT3 (which is why the background delete was introduced) and there is nothing unusual about the Humax implementation.
