ParticipantI agree that Barry’s advice is likely to be the only way to get things working again.

Hi,
I have a recording which has “ENC” tag on it and when it plays has no sound. I cannot delete this folder no matter how I try. This seems to have happened since downloading software. It appears that the HD channel for us comes with a few issues and this is one. Do you have any ideas please. Thanks
The no sound is a known issue with 1.00.09 and HD recordings. You need to format the disk and then reinstall the latest software.

I’ve turned off the FTP option (is this the Humax DLNA server?) but it still reboots
No FTP is err FTP. Try Menu > System > Internet Settings > Content Share off.

I have an iMac with Twonky installed but cant see anything on the Humax
My Humax box constantly reboots – it looks like Twonky is polling the box which may be triggering the reboots
Am I right?
There have been a number of reports of Twonky causing the HDR to reboot if the DLNA server on the Humax is enabled. If you only want to play content from the server then you could try turning off the Humax DLNA server.

What does the software upgrade to 1.02.29 do?
Stop the box crashing if you access the Internet radio.

I’m talking to them on email
Phone them; it is much easier.

i am currently running HPTTF 1.00.06
Which is very, very old. Do you leave your box on all the time?
how do i go about upgrading it? when i try an automatic update of the software, it says “now searching a new software…” but doesn’t change
The software isn’t transmitted continuously. If you leave the box in standby overnight it will update the next time there is an update transmitted. It looks to me as though the next one is scheduled for 5th (starting at 10am) to 7th September. Alternatively you can update via a PC but this will involve buying at least a cable.

ParticipantWhat software version is the box running? The usual reason for these weekly problems is using a very old software version. There is no weekly software update search; by default ir happens every night if the box is in standby.

whenever I try to replay whatever programme is at Number 68 on the Recoding List the whole thing freezes and I can do nothing unless I pull the plug out.
I would guess that the file system is becoming slightly corrupt. the easiest fix would be to watch any important recordings and then Format the drive from the HDD Control menu.

Hi – apologies if this is a dumb question, but am new to the forum & a brand spanking new Humax Fox T2 owner (as of this afternoon!) – will me box automatically update if left in standy to the new/latest version? …it is currently on 1.02.20 (I think!?)
It will eventually but it depends when the update is broadcast. The place to watch is Link to DTG website

IS reformatting straightforward? If we delete everything we’ve saved (there’s nothing that important) is it an easy fix?
No need to delete things. To format just go the HDD control menu and select format (Default password is 0000). The actual format takes about two seconds.

ParticipantI would try the Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows free download from Link to WD web site. Try running the extended test. If that passes then I think it is time to format the drive in the Humax.

I wonder if Martin has any thoughts on this.
Given that everything is copied off it might be worth running the manufacturers diagnostics on the hard drive. Emma, what make and model of hard drive is it?

PC is 192.168.1.103
Other devices look fine.
Why is the Humax on a different subnet?

ParticipantSo what is the IP address of the PC?
