I am having the same problem as the original poster.
Live in central Scotland and have retuned repeatedly.
Signal strength up at 100% on all channels.
Your problem is almost certainly that your signal strength is too high and is saturating the tuners. If you have an amplifier in the system then try removing it. If there is no amplifier then you need to fit an attenuator which will only cost a few pounds. Any signal strength above 40% will work fine and our box has in the past worked without problem at signal strengths just below 30%.

ParticipantIt is an interesting question and I will be interested to know what other people think. The DTR-T1000 was rather lacking in features when released but recent software updates do seem to be going in the right direction with more to come. My guess is that either box would be suitable for the stated purpose but you really need the views of the Youview box users.

I managed to google a list of Edimax dongles that were compatible with older Humax boxes, such as the Foxsat. Can’t find that link now, I’ll keep looking.
Careful, as far as I know no dongle is compatible with the FOXSAT. The list you have posted later is for the Freeview HDR product.

No Martin, it’s set 5 mins either way
I think you misread what I wrote. Setting it to 5 minutes or any other non zero value disables series link.

I’m really short on time right now and cannot realistically deal with this.
Does anyone have a service provider who can take care of this for me and that they’d recommend?
Is the box still under warranty (two years)? If so get Humax to sort it out for you.

My friend has a 9150T and recently it lost the ability to record a series. Recording a prog in advance is fine. I’ve reset it and it was fine for a couple of weeks buts its lost it again. Anyone any ideas?
Is he setting pre or post padding to a non zero value? On the 9200/9150/9300 this will disable accurate recording and series link.

My new system did work ok but now does not respond to the remote control. It is stuck on BBCHD only. Any help would be appreciated.
When you press a button on the remote, is the PVR button flashing red? If it is one of the buttons then press the PVR button.

Only bit I’m stuck on is all the forums say not to allow the HDD to “initialise”… how do I prevent this from happening?
Welcome to the Forum. I agree that a format is the way forward. The “initialise problem” is where people try and look at the disk using standard Windows tools. Windows knows nothing about the 9200 disk format so treats it as a blank disk. If you just access the disk using humaxrw then you should have no problem.

Thanks for this – it was the AV!
One other Q – the tv works fine but when the feed is routed via the pvr only a few channels feature ~ with the others saying ‘no or bad signal’
If you have not used the Humax for a while then I would guess it needs retuning. Try an automatic tune first. If that produces a significant number of channels above 800 then try a manual tune using the Biggles instructions http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/week-old-9300t-and-epg-wont-fill-up-for-week#post-7097

I have checked that the aerial feed goes into the PVR and then back out to the TV. Scart lead also connected to the right sockets I think.
First check that the SCART is securely fitted at each end. If that isn’t the problem maybe there is a button the TV remote to select the SCART input. The button can have different labels eg AV.

ParticipantIs there an amplifier in your aerial setup?

But on saying that I am still getting the snow when I change to certain channels.
What is the signal strength and quality as reported by the Humax on good channels and on bad channels?

Duplicates will appear in the 800 range and may be stronger signals.
If there are a significant number of duplicates then the OP needs to do a manual tune see http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/transmitters#post-2336

Thanks. Hate to be dense but what is meant by “the custom firmware and use fix-disk”?

I thought that I’d recorded something last night (by pressing the red record button on the remote). This morning, the recording won’t play (I cannot delete any recording either this morning).
I’m getting a screen mesaage in a grey box as follows (accompanied by the usual swirling icon that denotes an action in progress):
“CANNOT PLAYBACK WHILST RECOVERING DATA FOR DELAYED RECORDING”
I don’t recollect seeing that message reported before. I wonder if the root problem is related to the background delete problem. The easiest way to fix that problem is to install the custom firmware and use fix-disk. Perhaps see if someone else has a better idea.
