Ok, so the manual retune.. At first it wouldnt work, every channel i tried to tune seemed to pick up the bbc 1/2 multiplex. I did an off + on, leaving the box off a while, and then the retune worked.
Sounds very odd. Can you tell us where in the country you are (first part of post code would be helpful) and what multiplex channel numbers you used for tuning?

My main concern is if I were to try it and then have need to return the unit under warranty after re-loading the original code, will it be obvious that the software has been tinkered with, and thus invalidate the warranty!
If you use the capability provided in the custom software to remove itself, there is almost no trace left and I would think that the Humax repair department have more important things to do than to forensically examine the hard drive of every returned HDR for a trace of custom software. I also think there might be a debate about whether installing additional software invalidates the warranty but I haven’t had a close read of the Humax warranty conditions recently. Certainly I can’t recollect a single instance of a user reporting a declined warranty claim because of the custom software.

Mine is just the set top box and Im not sure how much to advertise it as, especially in Ebay.
No such thing as an HD-FOX T2 that can’t be turned into a recorder (by the addition of a drive and possibly upgrading the firmware). Sell it for the same price as all the others.

ParticipantIt sounds like a mistuned box. Have you tried a manual tune using the instructions at http://myhumax.org/forum/topic/week-old-9300t-and-epg-wont-fill-up-for-week#post-7097 ?

ParticipantI assume you have tried new batteries. How old is the box? If less than two years old might be worth phoning (not emailing) Humax support as they may send out a new remote to eliminate the remote as the cause of the problem.

It has been mentioned that multiple channels for the same service can cause problems with failed recordings, (although the logic escapes me, if your recording a specific channel on a specific frequency how would this cause a problem?).
Where do you tell it which frequency to record on? Having multiple versions of the same channel is the most common cause of failed recordings and Humax have chosen the option that will give the majority of users the greatest chance of their recordings succeeding; it all seems perfectly sensible to me. You have particular requirements which you can satisfy by manually tuning in the additional multiplexes so nobody is restricting your choices.

I’m not sure how that is classed as an improvement as it was always nice to be able to watch an alternative BBC1 region, (I had the choice of South or South East)but now just the South East.
Because if you watch the channels in the 800s and have set recordings from channels below 800 for the same time period, there is a significant risk that the recording will fail with a “Failed to track” error message. There is nothing stopping you manually tuning extra stations if you are aware of the risks but I suspect the vast majority of users are not.

I’ve now had a new aerial installed (high end, new mast, signal coming in now tested) but still on my PVR-9150T I’ve still got the same ‘juddering’ or slipping picture problem.
Remind us, is this on all channels and programs? Watching live via the PVR and watching recordings?
Martin Liddle
ParticipantInstalled without problem (usual long pause at 79% and shorter pause at 89%). The tuning with this version is much better and matches what I would do with a manual tune. Now if only it would retain the schedule of future recordings I would be very happy.

I’ve tried formatting the HDD from the hidden menu, which doesn’t work. I can select the option but nothing happens – not even an error message to work on.
What capacity is the drive?

Does anybody know if I apply the beta 22 update when the ota comes eventually will it overwrite this, it should in my thinking.
It isn’t really a beta version; it seems to me that it is a tested version that fixes an important problem but at the moment Humax have decided not to release OTA. Chances are that the next OTA will be a later version number and will of course overwrite this version. If they did decide to release it OTA it would be byte for byte identical to what you can download today so there would be no point in overwriting it.

If I bought a replacement drive, is there any way of viewing the old drive from outside of the 9300?
The only way I can think of doing it is to connect the 9300 drive to a PC and use humaxrw to copy the .ts files to the PC. You can then FTP them to the HDR-FOX T2. Neither the 9200 nor the HDR can read the 9300 file system.

ParticipantThis sounds as though the file system is becoming corrupt, which is a common problem. Easiest solution is to watch any important recordings and then format the drive from the HDD Control entry in the Record Menu (default password is 0000).

I’m confused then. If it fixes a problem why wouldn’t humax make it available to everyone.
At a guess, because Humax think they are close to fixing some of the other reported problems. Releasing a software version OTA does cost money.
