This is an 9150T which has given good service. Yesterday I tried to set a programme to record and got no response. Checking the HDD, it was showing as 100% full but only about 25 hours of named recordings are listed. This has occurred around the same time as 2 instances of the remote not working, both solved by switching the PVR off and switching on again.
I suspect the file system has become corrupt. Try watching the recordings you can see listed and then format the drive from the HDD Control menu item in the Record menu.

But today I find I can’t even change channels – it’s stuck on one.
I did the ten minute shutdown again but this time it still remains frozen.
So which channel is it stuck on?

Is this the end of the road for this particular HDD, or is there some hope of repairing it?
Post the question on hummy.tv where the custom firmware experts are to be found.

The following link gives the basic idea for SD recorders, but it is much the same for your unit. You will find Edit channels in Menu, Settings….
A better link is Link to manual tuning FAQ which includes the vital information about changing the Transmission type between DVB-T and DVB-T2.

Ah! Back to the drawing board. I’ll have to start again – I’ve just put all my schedules back in – I suppose I can’t just retune those 5?
Yes you can retune just those 5 in this specific case.

When I did the manual search I got the message “no channel found” for 33 and 35. So out of 9 channels listed on the link for CP, I actually only was able to tune 4.
Did you set Transmission Type to DVB-T2 for 33 and 35? For 30-; 28-; 29-. just use the numbers 30,28 and 29 (30 is DVB-T2, the other two are DVB-T).

I’m finding it very difficult to see parts of the screen and wonder if there is somewhere in the settings where it can be adjusted?
The only settings on the Humax are the screen aspect ratio and Display format which are both in Menu button>Settings>Preferences>Video.
If adjusting these doesn’t fix the problem then there will be similar settings on the TV.

It doesn’t explain however why the external aerial worked fine for 3 months and still picks up all channels when connected directly to the Samsung tvs built in freeview?
Have a careful look at the aerial cabling looking for badly made joints, kinks in the cable or any signs of water getting in. There have been a large number of posts over many years where a Humax has been more sensitive to faults in the aerial cabling than other equipment. What is the signal strength and quality reported by the Humax when a) connected to the indoor aerial and b) connected to the external aerial.

Hi Barry and all, i had a reply and they have offered me an upgrade to a DTR-T1010 500GB
Push for a DTR-T2000 with you making a small financial contribution.

There are two reds though, dull red when in standby and a subtle change in the red shift when recording, blue is on. Why Humax could not have used a different more distinct colour for recording is a mystery .
Particularly as there is a purple colour available that is only used during a software update.

Wondered if anyone could help with a problem with media rendering on Humax HDR 2000T
How is the Humax connected to the network (hard-wired, Wi-Fi, Homeplugs etc)?

After the very helpful suggestions you’ve all provided, I think I’m in the position where I will be able to copy everything onto quite a few very large USBs, but not then onto the HDD of a different machine.
You can copy them onto the hard drive of the new machine. It is only Faust who thinks you can’t; as both Barry and I tried and succeeded yesterday, I would suggest there is not a problem.
So what does the average family (who know nothing about USBs) do when they just want to upgrade, and keep the various films, shows and whatever that they have accumulated of the past year?
At a guess, they say it is only TV and wave goodbye to it.

I did that in order to copy them in the first place Barry. However, whether something has changed in the copying process I’m not sure. Whatever the reason they wouldn’t copy back the other way.
Just to make sure, I have copied a short recording to USB storage, copied it back to a different location on the HDR-2000T and played it from the new location. So it is very definitely possible.

However, the dictatorial manner that some mods in this forum present themselves has driven people away to other friendlier forums.
Just saying. It seems that people are frightened to post anything for fear of upsetting the mods.
I have never been afraid to post and I sometimes disagree with Barry. I think it is perfectly reasonable that the people doing the work to run the Forum (and with the inside contacts) set a policy that makes them feel comfortable. If other people don’t like the policy then, as you say, other forums are available.
