I connected the T2 direct to a TV hdmi input and I can get sound.
I’m thinking is there a mismatch between the T2 and the AV. Has anyone got any thoughts before I ask Yamaha ?
What is the Audio output format on the Humax (Menu button>Settings>Preferences>Audio)? Does it work if you choose the alternative setting?

When I enter the Media share section it can see my computer and my Sonos speaker system , does anyone know what I need to do to get my WD network drive to my box
Have you got the DLNA server enabled on the WD My Cloud?

I have a 4000T and a Sony tv, I’ve noticed that when my Humax is off the cec on all my other devices wont work, it only works when the Humax is switched on.
It might help to get a solution if you tell us what the other devices are and what cables run between the different devices.

Can anyone please explain to me when the HDR-2000T chooses to save series link recordings in a folder prefixed with ‘New -‘? Some of my recordings are in folders named simply after the programme concerned, whilst others have a ‘New’ in front of them.
I think the folder name comes from the first recording made in the folder and persists even when the program is deleted. Hence Panorama recordings tend to get filed under random names.

I’ve been reading about humaxrw and humaxcheck but they appear to be for a different model.
You are correct, they are of no use for your problem.
Have we lost everything? Or is there any way back?
I think in practical terms you have lost everything. I think all the program data will still be present on the disk. If you really want to try and recover the recordings then you might want to experiment with Linux based EXT2/EXT3 file recovery software eg https://www.easeus.com/datarecoverywizard/recover-ext2-ext3-drive.htm but I don’t recollect anybody on here reporting having recovered things when in your situation.

I’ve used the timer function to turn mine off at Midnight (we are always in bed by then) and back on again at 6.
Does that sound like a reasonable plan?
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me particularly as you have both off and on timers.

Problem now solved.
“Windows Fall Creators” upgrade was required and I now have the relvent tick boxes on the “Turn Windows Features On or Off” box and this is now working just like it used to before Windows messed things up!
Well done and thanks for updating us with the solution.

Thanks for reply but I do not have tunefix installed
Do you have the custom firmware installed?

Thanks very much Martin… I will download the software and start reading! I enjoy a nice techy problem.
Good luck there are others here who are better placed to offer you advice on the Foxsat custom firmware.

They are both HD and SD but access to only the SD would be better than nothing. What do you suggest?
The out of the box way to access the SD recordings is to copy them from the Foxsat to attached USB storage and then copy them onto either the NAS or the FVP-4000T. Note you only want the .ts file; the other support files are not required. Alternatively if you install the custom firmware for the Foxsat and the appropriate packages you could access the recordings either via Samba or DLNA. You can download the software from http://filecloud.io/q97isogtc but you will need to do a lot of reading and the multipart thread on AVForums titled “Media & File Server Bundle for the Foxsat HDR” is the best place to start.

So my problem is… I have had a Humax FoxSat HDR Freesat box for several years and have many recordings on it that I want to keep.
I now have a Humax FVP-4000T FreeView box as well and in the user manual it indicates that files on home network devices can be played through the FVP-4000T.
Both boxes are attached via LAN to my home network but I cannot see the FoxSat HDR files on the FVP-4000T (although I can see files on my NAS box which is on the same network).
Are the recordings you want to access on the Foxsat HD or SD recordings? For SD recordings there are a number of options you could try; I don’t know of a way of playing the HD recordings.

I ran the disk fix.
After 24 hours my pc locked up.
Why not run fix-disk again? If it ran for 24 hours it should have made significant progress in cleaning up the disk unless the disk itself is knackered.

That's funny, my setup is Windows Pro 64bit Ver 1703 OS Build 15063.850 fully up to date and I only have the single check box with no plus sign to access the other three checkboxes!
I am on Version 1709 Build 16299.192

I have the first box but not the latter three!
Step 4 : Make sure you TICK the 4 options :
– SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support
— SMB 1.0/CIFS Automatic Removal
— SMB 1.0/CIFS Client
— SMB 1.0/CIFS Server
I have the full set on Windows 10 pro 64 bit (you do of course have to click the “+” symbol next to the first one to see the rest).

I have lost the ability to see my Humax Foxsat HDR on windows File explorer network.
At a guess I would say you no longer have Samba v1 support installed in Windows 10. Try reading https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/help/4034314/smbv1-is-not-installed-windows-10-and-windows-server-version-1709
