I am trying to run humaxrw on my hard drive. All I get is “Humax disk not found. The disk has not been initialised by Windows and disk management can see it as “Unknown”.

What humaxrw command line are you using in Windows?

I have also tried in Linux Mint 64 bit which can see it but that is all.

    Windows 10 64 bit.

What humaxrw command line are you using in Linux?

HDMI No Sound Issue is fixed.

Barry do you have any idea what persuaded Humax to do something about this problem now, when it has been around on the HDR-2000T (for some people) forever?

Is my belief that the files copied from a 9300T to an HDR-FOX T2 can not be played actually correct ?

    Your belief is not correct.

    7) Is the source code for humaxrw available?

I don’t think it is in the public domain. The author is xyz321 who is a member here and at hummy.tv. You could try contacting him and see whether he would allow you access.

HumaxRW is a driver that allows the files (which are not encrypted) to be copied to a Windows/DOS based system.

It isn’t limited to Windows; there is also a version to run natively under Linux.

    Update

After trying all sorts of workarounds I had to admit defeat and bought a 5000T. Now I have to see if I can get the files on to that.

On the 5000T you need to copy just the .ts files. The other files associated with a recording on the 9300T are not needed.

I have new FVP 4000 terrestrial receiver, rubbish GUI, remote became eligible after a short time, disappearing recordings.

There will be a software update very soon for the FVP-4000T that will improve the GUI. Not sure what “remote became eligible” but if you have problems with the remote talk to Humax support on the phone; the original ones were not of great quality but the replacement design seems to be better and they might send you one for free.

You can run humaxrw natively on an HDR-FOX T2 with the custom firmware so it is possible to copy from a 9200T/9300T drive to an HDR-FOX T2.

I hadn’t noticed that in the packages or does it need compiling?

It is a normal package; I doubt it is widely used. The link to the package notes is https://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Custom_Firmware_Package_Notes#Humaxrw

As I recall the most anyone tried in a 9200 was a 500GB which may have just been the availability of ACE drives.

    I fitted a 750GB drive to a 9200T for someone.

humaxrw won’t read or write to those drives anyway but the T2’s will play the .ts files from e.g. an external drive

You can run humaxrw natively on an HDR-FOX T2 with the custom firmware so it is possible to copy from a 9200T/9300T drive to an HDR-FOX T2.

We see everything from the Newton booster (part of the Ponton Pike group). Nothing else is available on the FVP but lots on the Samsung TV. See my reply to Marty788. It looks like the FVP is rejecting anything that is not from the same transmitter but the TV isn’t. Is this possible?

Yes that is entirely possible. The problem with receiving from more than one transmitter for a PVR is that it MAY cause problems with accurate recording which probably isn’t an issue for a TV. Can somebody with an FVP confirm if the automatic tuning will only select multiplexes from one transmitter? You should be able to add multiplexes by manual tuning.

    2) What is the maximum number of recordings a 9300T can have ? (The 500G fills up at about 150 recordings, some sources say around 256, some sources say around 512 which gives the bigest useful size upgrade as 1T or 2T respectivly)

I think the maximum number of recordings is 512 but I have a vague recollection that it is split as 256 max TV and 256 max Radio. Can anyone else confirm?

    3) Has anyone sucessfully got a 2T drive to work in a 9300T ? (may be irrelivent dependant upon the answer to the previous question)

I don’t recollect it being reported and personally I don’t think it is a good idea because of the fragility of the file system.

    4) Is the humaxrw backup between 2 humax formated drives a physical or logical backup ?

Can you explain what you mean by a logical backup please?

Basically, the new FVP-5000T I’ve just installed in my lounge can only find 42 channels (auto tuning). My TV aerial is split into 3 (Maplin 4-way passive splitter in the loft). The Samsung TV in the kitchen finds 110 channels, as does the Samsung TV in the bedroom.

Please could tell us some of the missing channels so that we can understand which multiplexes are missing? I think the first thing I would do is very carefully examine the aerial cable from the splitter to the Humax looking for kinks or badly made joints; these can produce notch filter effects that remove one or more multiplexes.

My impression is that accurate recording across BBC One is not working but then I don’t currently record much content so my sample is quite limited.

I have reported my problems to the BBC but I did it by making a comment as I couldn’t find anywhere to raise an issue about a transmission problem. Grateful if somebody can point me in the right direction?

I’ll be grateful for any suggestions as to the cause of this behaviour.

I am not sure what you mean by live TV. Do you mean watching TV via the tuner of the TV rather than via the HDMI feed from the Humax? If so and the Humax is in standby, have you got the “Power saving in standby” setting set to off (which is necessary for aerial pass through to work)?

The 10pm News correctly started recording 2 minutes late (because of the football) but only recorded for 30 minutes and lost the last 5 minutes of the program which was present on the recording of the regional news. The regional news recording stopped during the regional weather and the national weather was lost.
