Wondering if the box has gone wrong internally as like I have said lost some channels ie not able to start BBC channels from the beginning like we used to and have lost some HD channels.
I doubt that there is a problem with the Humax. To be clear about what was suggested, try this:
Turn off the power to the router.
Put the Humax in standby and when the disk has stopped spinning turn off the power to the Humax.
Turn on the power to the router. Wait until it is fully booted and other devices on the network can connect to the Internet.
Turn on the power to the Humax.
Is it working correctly now?
Would yo know what the Network setting should look like.
We could guess but much better to get DHCP working properly so you get the correct settings.

Is this because the antenna power is set to on?
That sounds a reasonable assumption.
If this is so in theory could I use this boosted signal and use the antenna out option on the humax to send this boosted signal back to the tv to then get it to find the freeview channels?
Yes of course; you will need to turn power saving in standby off on the Humax for the signal to be passed to the TV when the Humax is in standby.

I have run CrystalDiskInfo to obtain the SMART data for my 9300T hard disk. I attach this in the uploaded file SMARTdiskinfo.png If you could take a look at this and give me an opinion I would be grateful.
Looks absolutely fine to me.

Now I am unsure whether or not to format this disk and then copy the av files back onto the disk from my PC, or buy a new disk and then copy the av files onto that. Can I ask for opinions about this please?
The easy way is to format it in the Humax, attempt to put the recordings back and see what happens next; if the corruption occurs again fairly quickly then the disk is failing. Alternatively if you want a more scientific approach, connect it to a PC and obtain the SMART data (effectively the hard drive health record) and post it here for an opinion on whether the drive is end of life.
I would also like to know if I can use a different hard disk (possibly of different capacity) and if so whether anyone can make a recommendation about this please?
You want a drive that is optimised for use in a PVR and there is no point in fitting one much larger than 500GB. If you want to go down that route I will provide some suggestions.
Before I lost my program index I can say that I often saw multiple entries of the same recording in the recorded programs listing. I wonder if other people have seen this and whether it is an indication of the hard disk failing?
No it is not a reliable indicator of the hard drive failing. It is simply an indication that the file system is becoming corrupt; I have in the past used hard drives for several years after the file system became corrupt and the drive was formatted.

So far, I have recovered most of the recordings to my pc and it looks like I can/have copied them back to the hard drive using the Power shell HumaxRW, but when I put the hard drive back in the Humax the recordings don’t show up on the menu so I can’t access/play them.
As the recording list was blank, have you used ts2hrw to recreate the missing hre files? If not try reading this thread https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/restoring-recordings-and-list-to-humax-pvr-9200t

PSo far it looks like it’s working fine, they are backing up to the Humaxrw folder on my pc.
Good.
If it’s any help to others in my predicament, maybe I’ll put all this useful info into a more legible step-by-step format and post it?
I think having a set of instructions written by somebody coming to it afresh is a good idea.

When a scheduled programme is broadcast at a different time/day it is missing from the schedule
Latest BBC1 “SHETLAND” Tuesday @21.00 on Tuesday 27th it is dropped from the schedule due to Football but is broadcast on Wednesday 28th
The recording schedule failed to include it.
This sort of event has been regularly occuring ie change of time “Last of the summer wine” dropped at lunchtime broadcast in evening but failed to record
The problem appears to be with the way BBC have identified the moved episode of Shetland.

As I cannot see any of my old programmes on the drive using ‘front-end’ I now want to see if there’s any chance of recovering them via the command line interface HumaxRW. Does anyone have any step-by-step idiot guide as to how to try this please?
Once you have lost the list of recordings you need to be in recovery mode. I have never used the front end so don’t know if it supports it. If it does then simply set the option and try again.
I’m using Windows 10 64-bit, when I double click the humaxrw application, it just flashes up quickly then disappears, is there something else I should be doing?
Yes this a command line application so clicking on it won’t work. You need to fire up Power Shell (Admin) (right click on the windows icon in the bottom left and select it). The depending on where you have humaxrw.exe type something like
cd usersMartin LiddleDownloadsHumax
then
.humaxrw 1: -r -l
Depending on how many hard drives your computer has you may need to change the “1:” parameter to “2: etc.

No, the drive does not show up at all. 😥
Puzzling. Is the drive spinning up properly in the caddy? Just wondering if it is a power supply issue with the caddy.

I get the following message quite a bit on BBC NEWS HD and less frequently on Channel 4 HD (and also the +1). The full message is “The receiver is not receiving a signal or the signal is too weak”.
When tuned to BBC News HD what is the signal strength and quality as reported by the Humax?

So far Windows is not recognising the drive, I tested the caddy with another spare drive and it showed up fine, but with the Humax HD, nothing.
Can I just check; does the drive show up in “Disk Management”? NB if Windows wants to initialise the disk do not let it.

I have downloaded Humaxrw & the ‘front-end’, have popped the Humax HD out and dropped it into a caddy, but it is not showing up on my Windows 10 pc.
Did Windows offer to initialise the drive and did you allow Windows to do it?

P.S. I have emailed the BBC for an explanation – awaiting a response.
There was a post over on hummy.tv a few days ago from someone who had received an answer from the BBC saying that they had implemented a new playout system but there was a technical issue that was preventing accurate recording from working and they were trying to resolve the problem. It sounds plausible but if true, it is disappointing that the issue wasn’t found during testing.

I had no previous knowledge that this was even planned.
We see it intermittently with an HDR-2000T connected to a Samsung TV and the usual trigger is turning the TV on whilst the Humax is recording.
