I wouldnt get peoples hopes up about swapping drives and thats only something that a keen hobbyist is going to do with those machines.

It is a very straightforward procedure to change the hard drive in an HDR-1800T/2000T. I think it took 15 minutes the last time I changed one and nothing needed to be done to prepare the drive.

Have you tried the exit (X) key ?

Or the Back key to the right of the Exit key.

Me too – I’ve been missing the beginnings and endings of BBC programmes during the last couple of weeks. This concided with me switching to FVP 5000 T from the FOX T2 I don’t remember having a sustained problem with the FOX.

My impression is that if there are no late changes to the start time then the recording accuracy of the FVP-500T and the HDR-FOX T2 are very similar. I suspect that when the schedule is changing the recording accuracy of the HDR-FOX T2 is better. The BBC have been having problems with sending the accurate recording data for some time; it seems to be going in cycles where it steadily improves over a few days and just when I think it is working properly things suddenly get worse again. I do hope the BBC get it finally sorted soon.

As they probably didn’t consider that a tiny proportion of users would try to connect the box to two display devices simultaneously, why would they mention it in the manual?

I think the manual should cover all the available settings but with the emphasis placed on the most commonly used ones.

When using my new HDR 1100s the sound bar switches off periodically.

Please tell us how the soundbar is connected.

I thought the trick to bring the hard drive to life was to set a scheduled recording for the next program to start (on any channel). When the recording starts the hard drive will fire up and work perfectly until the next time the power is removed.

Did you check the partition type?

Is it still the case that max drive size is 2TB as with the older HDR 1000/1100 units?

The 2TB limit comes from the Partitioning scheme. If you take the old drive out and it has an MBR partitioning scheme then 2TB is indeed the limit; if it is GPT then there is a reasonable chance that a drive bigger then 2TB will work. The HDR-FOX T2 with custom firmware will work OK with drives larger than 2TB so it isn’t a hardware limitation.

I thought because the 1800T had the fitting for both sizes then a 3.5 HD would be OK, when I remove partitions etc.

I suspect the problem is that the power supply isn’t providing 12V (which 3.5″ drives need and 2.5″ drives don’t). I would expect if you put a drive of the correct type in, it will just offer to format it if it doesn’t think the current formatting is correct.

Need a new hard drive for my HDR-1800T tried two 500gb ones but none recognised by the machine what format do they need to be in for the 1800T to recognise and format them.

What physical size is the drive in your 1800T (is it a 3.5″ drive or a 2.5″ drive)?

Hi – I recently started missing the ends of recordings; added 3 mins then 2mins to the ends & most times – just fine.

If these are mainly BBC programmes then everybody else wsa also missing starts or ends.

Half way thro’ the HDMI Loader started up & when it finished, I couldn’t access the remains of the recorded list.

Best guess is that the file system was corrupt and the corruption caused the box to reboot.

I’m guessing that I’ve lost all my recordings & the hard drive solution’s beyond my capabilities.

I suggest you regard them as gone.

Anyone know how to get back the blue recording menu?

Format the hard drive from the HDD Control menu item in the Record Menu. If you can’t access the menu at all then it is possible that the hard drive has failed.

My unit has just started to show a recording conflict when watching one channel and recording another. Have 2 LNB and both lines show a good signal strength. It offers no other info other than a conflict is present. Why should it show a conflict when only 2 channels are involved?

Give us an example of two programs that produce a clash.

Unfortunately that can’t be the same for me because my signal strength says 54% and quality is 100%.

    On which channel?

I find I still have the same problem and the BBC programmes are impossible to watch/record.

Have you ruled out the possibility that automatic tuning has not selected the optimum multiplex for the BBC channels? You might try the manual tune procedure in the FAQ https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/manual-tuning-instructions-1 as a final check.

It is an odd problem and I am not sure about the solution. I would start by putting the boxes into standby waiting until the hard drive has stopped spinning and then turn off the power at the mains for 30 seconds. See if they are any better. If not do a reset to default settings.

The TV guide is not showing English but instead what can only be described as gobbledygook. Have also a PVR-9150T which has the same problem. The same text is shown on the channel programme description.

Which transmitter are you receiving from?
