I realise this is an old post but is there now a way of putting the programs back on a 9300T.
There have been recent reports of success; see this thread https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/9300-t-strange-recording-behaviour It does seem to need a bit of perseverance.

I have a 5000t and recently the top of the picture has disappeared, when I press the free view button I can’t see the menu. I’ve tried all the different aspect ratio settings on both the TV and the 5000t, even switched the box off at the mains. Don’t know what to do now
Please tell us what make and model of TV?

And then only if she can manage with the new EPG and the concept of catchup TV.
To reiterate your phrase, and one I use myself on occasions, If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it.
I was thinking an HDR-2000T would be an easier update for her.

Still going strong so far:
– original problem hasn’t re-appeared
– re-uploaded shows still showing + playing Ok. [Some have the incorrect name due to original problem on the recording]
Thanks for coming back and confirming the good news.
The two things I did differently on the last attempt (see previous post) were:
– Ran humaxcheck 3: -l to see files for the above msg.
– Turned the box on, but didn’t go into the menu system for a while ~ 20min
Hard to understand why that should help but certainly worth trying for anybody else having problems uploading recordings.

The saying is “if it ain’t broke ….” but I really feel that the time might be right for some preventative maintenance consisting of;
– a new Seagate 320GB Pipeline HDD, identical to current one.
Have you looked at the SMART data on the existing drive? If so what are the power on hours and number of reallocated sectors?
does the 9300T have other known weak points that can be preemptively fixed?
There is an issue that is reported occasionally with saving setup data to NVRAM which suggests the NVRAM has reached end of life. I don’t think anybody has a solution and it isn’t particularly common. There is also a problem with glitchy playback on certain programmes (presumably because of the way they are encoded) but I assume that isn’t an issue for the programmes your mum watches.
Honest opinions – is it worth the work? Or are we better off just waiting for the day (which must surely sooner rather than later) that we have to get her a new PVR?
If your mum is happy with it then carry on with the 9300T but the later Humax recorders are better PVRs. It really is your call.

Is there a ‘backup’ battery to maintain stuff as in computer bios etc?
Not if it is NVRAM.

Your right it is a Italian box i’m hoping that someone might know something surely the humax boxes are similar, ok firmware is different but Freesat or Tivusat could be similar in respect of problems ish, i hope so
How old is the box? Inability to retain settings may indicate that the Non Volatile RAM (NVRAM) is failing.

I have just bought a new TV, a JVC. It works perfectly until connected to my Humax box, but then the picture looks faded as if I’m watching through gauze. No amount of juggling with the TV settings makes any difference and the Humax box doesn’t have picture settings since it doesn’t have a screen.
The Humax does have some picture related options. Whilst watching via the Humax press the plus (“+”) button on the Humax remote and try different picture resolutions. I would be surprised if the Humax and the TV were incompatible. You might try asking the company that sold you the TV for some advice.

I have just bought a Humax FVP-4000 Nero to replace an ancient Topfield TF 5800, how I miss MyStuff. Can anybody advise on the format needed for a USB stick? I tried a 64GB drive formatted to Fat 32 on my Mac but that failed to load.
I was very surprised to find that I can playback recording from a USB drive pugged into my Western Digital Live TV box via the Humax. The same drive is ignored when plugged directly into the Humax.
FAT32 should work if the partition table is MBR format but the maximum file size is limited to 4GB. The other acceptable formats are NTFS and ext2 or ext3. In all cases the partition table needs to be MBR.

And they’ve now appeared!
There are quite a few reports of difficulty in loading files back onto a 9300T (in my experience there is no problem with the 9200T) and I don’t think the reason is understood. Please could you update us in a few days to confirm that the recordings have stayed visible and playable.

My 9300T has started showing some strange recording behaviour a couple of months ago. e.g.
– Multiple instances of the same program recorded
– sometimes these instances show the incorrect program name
– Sometimes these are only 1s long
– If I delete them – other, hidden programs show up – i.e. look like scheduled programs which were hidden / not recorded
etc
Could this be a dough disk ?
These are classic symptoms of the file system becoming corrupt. You need to take action quickly because the next stage will be that all recordings will become invisible. You need to watch any important recordings and then format the drive from the HDD Control menu item in the Record menu. If you want to keep some recordings and are prepared to open the Humax to allow the hard drive to be connected to a PC then you could use humaxrw to copy the recordings to a PC.

ParticipantYes. About 5 years ago I was helping a relative to buy a new TV in Sainsbury’s and they insisted on him filling in a form (that I had never come across before) about TV licensing.
I don’t think I ever had to complete a form for any TV or PVR I purchased prior to 2016 (but they would have been mainly on-line purchases).
