New member here, so apologies if this is a dumb question.

I have a large number (over 60 hours) of audio files recorded on the hard drive. Is there a quick way to copy these across to a USB pen or are audio files also ‘encrypted’ as I believe video files are. If there is no quick way, I will have to copy in real time using the optical output into my Mac. I would prefer the quicker option !

    Thanks.

Hi welcome to our forum. What do you mean by audio files ? Are these uploaded by yourself (MP3) or Freesat radio recordings made from the epg ?

Recorded off Freesat from BBC Radio 3, so ‘epg’.

All you can do is record in real time from the S/Pdif or analogue audio outputs. Can’t you record from Freeview direct to your MAC using a USB tuner ?

Thanks for confirming what I suspected. Yes, I could use a USB tuner, but have now started to use Audio Hijack to record off the web directly onto the Mac.

for BBC programs, it’s easier to use get_iplayer to ahem, get a file on your computer ;-)
