Inactivepurchased this box 4 days ago, not used it much.
all of a sudden it stopped working. I see many posts on the forum with this problem (remote control stopped working, unable to use the buttons). Is this possible with such a brand new unit ?
I have left the unit on standby to see if an overnight update might fix the problem.

InactiveDoes the unit respond to the front panel at all?
There are several reports of the remote control, after it had been assigned a new codeset to avoid equipment conflicts, of reverting back to the default set.
Not working at all is rare. If it does not respond in the morning – return it to standby and remove the power to the power supply for up to 60 secs (The green LED on the power supply must not longer be lit)
Is HDMI-CEC enabled on the TV? – if so disabled it and restart TV and power cycle unit. [HDMI-CEC is called something different by each manufacturer – a easy search with “HDMI-CEC” and the Manufacturer will tell you what it is.

Inactiveno, nothing on front panel either.
I switched off the unit for a while (> 10 minutes) and then powered on again but same.
I will check out the HDMI-CEC later today
thanks

InactiveJust to recap before you try HDMI-CEC.
Power-supply LED is green and HDR-1000S standby light is red. Network, if connected, LED is lit or not?

InactiveThe red power light on left is on, no other lights on front.
LAN on back is green on with other yellow flashing.
I reset the TV to factory reset and now can use menu for 20 seconds on power up, so that’s better
How do I do a factory reset, can’t seem to find that info (probably right in front of me;) )

InactiveThanks, not sure why I never saw that

Think I was looking for an external button,
Strangely unit is working now, before I did a reset

Did you red-disable HDMI-CEC on the TV?

Inactiveno, I reset to factory default. I couldn’t find the Simlink setting.
however, the box is now not working again. I will need to check it out

InactiveI have reset factory default on the box and still no difference.
What I’d like to know is why is this box like this, it was 4 days old when problems started and I’ve spent 3 days trying to get it working again.
Seems like it’s going back for a refund !

InactiveOk, 20 minutes later the box is now working ?
What the heck is happening ?
January 6, 2015 at 6:57 am #58330Anonymous
InactiveThe Simlink setting should be somewhere in the TV’s menua.
If this happens again instead of factory resetting the unit try powering up and down the TV and not touching the unit.
With Simlink active your TV controls the power state on the unit.

Inactivethe box then stopped working shortly after.
I have thought about it and I think you are right, this Simlink is causing the problem between the LG TV and the Humax box.
I can’t see any setting for Simlink so will check this out further.
thanks

InactiveFound this:
Turn on the LG TV and press the “Menu” button on the remote control.
Push the down-arrow directional button on the remote control to select “Option” and highlight “SimpLink,” then press the directional button again to turn off the SimpLink feature.
Suggest both the TV and the Humax are then placed into standby (you may have to power cycle the Humax once as well).
Hopefully that should solve the problem.

InactiveHi have seen that information also, but the Simplink option is not present

have tried removing the HDMI cable and using a SCART cable. surely that should work ?
thanks for advice
