InactiveI wish to replace my existing Sky HD system with a Humax HDR1100S which will be inside a wood cabinet with no glass front
At the moment I have a simple IR extender connected to my RF coax on rear of the Sky box run to the external of the cabinet.
How can I do this on the HD1100S with no RF coax outlet.
Can anyone please recommend a way to do this and what do I need to buy.
I do not want to use the remote in other rooms simply a small extension to external of cabinet so I don’t have to leave the door open whilst using it.
Any help appreciated

ParticipantHi welcome to our forum.
You need a Infra Red Repeater like Powermids.

If you have a smart phone or tablet then the Humax app will control the box via your home network

InactiveThanks for the quick response Graham I was hoping I may be able to just get something similar to what I have at the moment, a 1 meter lead with an eye on the end which really is unnoticeable through sat connections.

The magic eye is a VHF modulator that converts infra red control signals to a VHF signal which it sends over the coax cable. The Sky box has built into it, a VHF demodulator which recovers the control signal and internally processes the control request.
The sky box also provides 9V power to power the eye.
The system can be replicated using a Triax Tri Link unit, but it’s an expensive way to just be used for remote control. Normally the sky box uses the system to send it’s pictures over coax to other TV’s.
There are other infra red repeaters available
eg
You would need a usb power source (like a phone charger), unless you are prepared to open the cupboard to boot up the box. If you are you could power it from one of the 1100S usb ports.
