Tenant recently moved into my house and trying to assist him with a problem with his HDR1000S.
He loses picture with momentary loss of signal, rain attenuation etc. Picture remains off even with good sat signal and can only be restored by switching power off and back on again.
Removing and restoring sat input connector does not restore picture.
I have tried to recreate fault by removing sat input connector but picture restores once sat input restored
Normal Sat signal level is 80% with quality reading 100%
Could possibly be LNB/Coax but before going down this route wanted to check whether other forum members have experienced similar.
Grateful for any advice

The cabling would be my first suspect. Start with the unit F connectors to make sure good electrical connections that are required to make the electrical circuit and are not loose.
Then check for discoloration which would be a sign of water ingression at both ends.
