    Hi, about a week ago my 500GB HDR 1000S failed to update itself to the latest firmware (UKSFAA 3.00.18) which was released on 15/12/15.

    It is now stuck in a loop where it says ‘Error: E010 invalid sign’, it then tries to re-apply the same update before rebooting and showing the same error message.

    Can anyone help?? The warranty ran out q few months ago and I’m concerned that it has bricked itself.

    This is the only way my family can watch TV and Christmas is creeping up on us!

    Cannot remember seeing that error reported before.

    Have you tried updating software from usb port?

    Hi Barry, yes I tried flashing UKSFAA 3.00.18 again, in case what the box had downloaded had become corrupted and also a version 3.00.20 which o downloaded from:

    http://www.freesat.co.uk/help/got-freesat/fix-a-problem/tv-hdmi-issues

    Both were successfully transferred and written from usb, but after the box rebooted it showed ‘Error: E010 invalid sign’ again, and repeating the cycle.

    Thanks James forgot all about it to be honest.

    @imbarny – Can only suggest you contact Humax support by telephone, explain the software update has bricked unit and hope for a sympathetic ear.
