Interesting, that explains a lot about recent posts (stating they could see the contents of the recording partition). Similar experiments around the launch of the box, found no way to identify the individual files in the video partition let alone copy them externally. This does open the possibility of fitting a new larger hard disk and saving the original recordings. Anyone hoping to use the files on another device I guess is doomed to be disappointed.

Which has to be good news, though I suspect it will be beyond the capability of the posters asking to export recordings to usb.

Just maybe Freesat have been prevailed upon to allow transfer of recordings from an old disk to a new one like the earlier Freesat boxes.
