InactiveHi all,
How long do your batteries last in your 5000t remote control? Mine only seem to be lasting about 2 months. What type of batteries are you using?
Thanks in advance.
Christina.

The Duracell Plus Power batteries in my FVP remote (RM-L08) have been in for at least 6 months and currently the measured voltage is 1.46V so I would expect them to last for a fair while yet. What batteries are you using?

InactiveThe supplied batteries didn’t last very long, I’m using Aldi batteries in there, been in maybe a year, just measured 1.35v
(I’ve had no complaints with any Aldi battery, been using them for years)

InactiveMine are Kodak so I’m surprised they aren’t lasting very long as I always thought that was a good brand.
Are yours zinc chloride, alkaline or lithium?
Thanks for your help so far.

InactiveThe only batteries I have ever used in my Humax remote controls are the supplied ones. Many of these have been in daily use since 2009/2010, and are Rocket brand alkalines.

I bought 20 Kodak batteries a while ago and none of them have lasted very long. Worse batteries I’ve ever had.

InactiveThat’s really interesting Steveq.
It’s looking like I might need to try something else then. I thought maybe these remotes were just very hungry and it was a universal problem, seems not though.

InactiveKodak seem to be the £1 shop brand and I’m sure are zinc.

Are zinc chloride, alkaline or lithium the best to go for in remote controls?
Lithium are the best choice for kit that takes a lot of current like motorised toys. Remote controls are low current drain so Alkaline is the best bet.
Which give 74% to Aldi Active Energy AA at 1.99 for two.

InactiveSorry for not understanding but what does the 74% mean?

I think Graham is saying the Which (Consumer Association) testing gave the Aldi battery a test score of 74%.
