InactiveHi all,
Positive update.
I’ve received an email from Humax in the last hour advising that the issue is now resolved and to apply the update.
I’ve followed the instructions and………………… it worked!
ITV1 and ITV3 are back!

InactiveI submitted my serial number again recently and haven’t yet received update

InactiveThat’s encouraging. Any chance you could post Humax’ email here so we can see what process we need to follow to get the update? Personally, I haven’t heard from Humax, despite contacting them twice about this.

InactiveNo problem at all – see below.
I suspect if you haven’t got the latest version yet it will be coming soon? Maybe because I kept emailing they pushed me up the list?

Thank you for contacting Humax.
We are contacting now to let you know that our development team has identified and resolved the recent regional issues with the ITV channels.
The fix has been sent to your device as an over-the-air update, so as long as you have an internet connection, the update will be installed automatically.
To apply the update, please follow these steps:
Turn on the box and watch live TV for 1 minute.
Place the box into standby mode for 1 minute.
Turn on the box and watch live TV for 5 minutes.
Place the box into standby mode again for 2 minutes.
Check the version name in Settings > Apps > See all apps > Show system apps > Freeview, which should display as “1.00_65_241003_3c97b102b”.
Please confirm you have the correct version on your FreeView app, and share your experience with us:
Has the issue been resolved?
Have you experienced any side effects we need to investigate further?
Feel free to reply this email or contact our support line with your HMX email reference number.
Once again, we are thankful for your cooperation and support.

InactiveI’ve just received this from Humax
Thank you for contacting Humax.
The update should come really soon.
It is just currently being tested right now to make sure that it will work completely.
It should roll out over the air soon, so for as long as you are connected to the internet, you should be able to receive it when it does arrive to all Aura recorders across the UK.

InactiveMaybe I was a beta-tester then?

InactiveLooks a bit like it. Did you tell Humax it worked?
PS I wonder what ‘soon’ means?
October 9, 2024 at 2:34 pm #114855Anonymous
InactiveYes – within 10 minutes. Also, any recordings that were taken whilst the “blackout” was running are viewable again too.
Basically, it’s all back as it was working prior to 1st September once again.

InactiveI don’t know if you guys experiencd the same as I currently am on Sandy Heath transmitter I should get Look East on BBC1 sd instead I get London South
BBC1 HD I was getting Look East
Itv1 sd (black screen) listing showed Itv News
Itv1 HD I was getting Meridian News
They reckon they’ve found the source of the fault which this new update will fix

InactiveThe update has certainly solved the black screen issue.
With regards to channels, I am Sandy Heath too and I’ve always had (for as long as I can remember, even prior to the Humax box which I’ve been using for well over a year)…
ITV1 SD (Channel 3) – Anglia
ITV1 HD (Channel 103) – Meridian
I’m assuming there’s no Anglia HD transmission so it just picks up what it finds?
Not sure about BBC as don’t tend to watch that.

InactiveYeah I don’t tend to watch BBC1 but just with the channel issues I’ve noticed it

InactiveSandy Heath here too and I get the same news channels as Razordogz. Never have figured out why. Perhaps this will fix it. However – if I watch the news on my TV (i.e. without the Humax switched on), I get the ‘right’ news on both SD and HD. So it is being broadcast on HD.

InactiveMakes no difference to me – through the Aura or straight to a TV – Meridian is the HD offering…
