Inactive2 hours ago the BBC posted on Twitter that Humax had now identified what has gone wrong and is working to resolve this as soon as possible. Seems like Twitter is the only source of up to date info as Humax doesn’t reply to emails!

Inactivejennih: That sounds hopeful. Could you please post a link to that particular Twitter page so that we can keep an eye on it for any further updates in the next hours and days.

InactiveThe cynic in me wants to say that we could have told Humax “what has gone wrong” days ago. A clearly untested software change was made to a public-facing service.
Simples!

Simples!

I’ve just tweeted (my very first tweet!) telling/reminding the BBC that the problem applies to Humax Freeview boxes too, and not just Freesat ones.

InactiveRegrettably, nobody here knows, because no firm information has been given. There have been hints that progress is being made, but nothing definite.

ParticipantJust noticed that my phone no longer lists the HDR-1000S and FVP-5000T as a destination device you can cast the iplayer to.

InactiveProblems with BBC iplayer on my Humax HB-1100S
Can get into iplayer, but not watch any programmes, ditto with red button.

InactiveHere’s the latest from the BBC iPlayer website. The only thing that seems to have changed is the date – ie now 5 October instead of 2nd!
BBC iPlayer | Under investigation
*** Monday 5 October ***
We have become aware of an issue affecting Humax Freesat set top boxes where they are unable to playback content from within BBC applications (including iPlayer, News and Sport), despite being able to open the apps.
Humax have assured us that they are working on resolving this issue as soon as possible.
We’ll update this page as soon as we have more information.

I don’t recall my FVP 5000 ever being offered as a casting destination. Is (or was) there a setting to allow that?

They still have not got to grips with the fact that it not just Freesat which is affected (bad though that is on its own), but Freeview as well.

Going to try iplayer on both devices

After installing Microsoft Edge on my phone. I am casting Youtube to the FVP-5000T dial server.
Also works to HDR-1000S.

ParticipantOnly way that works for iplayer is streaming to a chromecast device. This works on my phone from the iplayer app.

InactiveAs we seem into posting what it works on: it works on both my Amazon dongle thingies and my LG smart TV and my Samsung smart TV and I am prepared to believe that it is a problem at Humax towers, as it seems that theirs are the only devices affected.
