Quote:Have not seen what you appear to be experiencing reported before, I don’t know if any of our other members have? This (freezing while I was typing the installation code) happened to me. I think the solution is to unlug the aerial. Thus:
1. Unplug aerial
2. Switch on
3. Use menu to set automatic update (and an appropriate time if necessary)
4. Exit menu
5. Place in standby
6. Plug in aerial
7. Wait for the automatic update
Great work Barry – I hope you weren’t planning a quiet night!
Ross Kavanagh
Thanks for that Ross.
Of course taking the aerial out will assist, I should have thought of that, but my units took a good minute to lock up, so I could access the menus at will.

InactiveBarry – finally managed it. Erk’s aerial removal solution to the freezing at 0000 worked for me and I was able to access the manual update section and do it. I have now also been into the autoupdate section and set it to a sensible time instead of silly o’clock. Many thanks for all your help and patience.
Challenged.

4am (the default auto update time) isn’t that silly really, at that time most boxes are in the required STANDBY mode and also there is less likelihood of local interference, traffic etc., which might corrupt the update.

My remote has suddenly stopped working. If I turn the box off and on again the remote works for a couple of minutes and then dies again. Help!!!
Thank goodness for this forum. I have had the same trouble all day with my 9300, remote works for a few minutes and then everything stopped responding including the manual buttons. I eventually found this forum with the advice to download the latest software and hey-presto everything is fine now. The trick is to power off completely, switch back on and immediately go to the menu, before the remote gives up, and select the software update.
my remote is completely not working, only the buttons on the box are but for only about a minute until it freezes and can not enter in the password as there are no numbers…… what do i do for the password?
Password is 0000

InactiveJust wanted to say a big “Thank You” for your help Barry with the previous posts.
I got in from work last night around 11ish and did exactly what you said to do and it worked…
However it did advise me afterwards to reset the default settings, which I did and then I lost all the recordings that were previously had been recorded.
But to be honest it’s not a bad thing, just a small price to pay to get it up and running again..
So Thank You!!!!!

InactiveThank goodness l found this site again…
We have 3 of them! 2x 9051T and one 9300T
all of them doing the same and l am most displeased.
they were playing up, prior to the digital switchover here, did allsorts to remedy it Humax blaming it on outdated software and insisting they had sent out a signal…mmmm…coincidence isnt’t it??and wanted me to send all 3 back to be updated costing £60 a throw.
Woe is me:(Is this going to be sorted by them becasue l tried really hard to do teh factory reset last night and was unable to do so quicek enough before the remote stopped.
Serious technophobe

ModeratorWelcome to the Forum Toni

The bottom line is if you do not have version software 1.00.26 on your units, then you need to get it uploaded soonest.
The software has been broadcast many many times, the significant factor as to why users have not been auto upgraded appears to be that they leave units on 24/7.
The software update is now being broadcast on a 24 hour cycle as per earlier in this thread.
Have a read through all the posts, and if you are still stuck then come back to us.

InactiveHi, I am new here having found you because my 9300T stopped working yesterday.
It will not find the OTA update (never has) even if I tried manual when I knew it was being aired.
I believe it is possible to update via serial port, but can anyone tell me:
1. where do I get the software (ie v. dot 26) and
2. what do I need a) to be able to do it (eg a cable of type ???)
and b) what exactly do I need to do to get it onto my machine?
any halp would be much appreciated as at present it is not much more than a brick.

Do you get any error messages on the front display?
Can you post the system id as listed in Menu, System, Status.
V26 software can be downloaded from Humax support site:
http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/support/downloadcenter_model.aspx?category_seq=63
Probably the easiest guide to updating via PC is to have a read of this:

InactiveI received a phone call from my mother last night saying her PVR9300T had also stopped working…
I’ll see if I can find a cable to get the update done asap.

A reset to defaults will delete the schedule of future recordings. If you mean that you have actually lost all the previously made recordings then that suggests a different fault; if that is the case then I suggest you format the disk from the HDD control menu.

InactiveHi! I have experienced exactly the same problem, the remote of my 9150T stopped working yesterday. If I switched off the unit at the back the remote did work for a few minutes before it stopped responding. I tried installing new software but got a message saying no new software could be found. In the end I restored default settings and this has solved the problem. My remote is now working! Phew!
Hope this helps
