    All OK here as well.

    I’m sure I could see the latest software version and date under settings before, but I cannot find any information now.

    Path to where the update was installed is as above.

    Reading the problems with Aura channels freezing .When it freezes usually on ch 4 more 4 during adverts , I find I can fast forward through the adverts and the channel will play again ..Do HUMAX not suppor Aura anymore?

    They haven’t supported it for YEARS

    It looks like once again the sky did not fall. All good here and I am hoping it will also cure the freezing issues I had on 4/7and 4Xtra that pre dated this latest problem by months, they seem ok now but always were mainly happening in the evening, more testing needed.

    I have been asking Humax since last April about the glitching on c31 and lense closing on c20. Still in hospital so haven’t been able to check if yesterday’s update has addressed these. Would be really grateful if you’d post when you’ve tried yours more. Thanks.

    Same goes for the frequent crash homescreening as per this posted on another thread >

    The problem Humax need to fix is this one which is registered in the Crash Reports and the timestamp coincides with the playback quit and spinning circle (I believe the spinning circle is the App restarting post-crash):

    java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException: android.media.MediaDrm.finalize() timed out after 10 seconds

    at java.lang.Daemons$Daemon.run(Daemons.java:103)

    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:764)

    Humax do know about it. I was a beta tester for them in the early days of the product and I still periodically email them with my updated issue list and a summary of the crash logs.

    @bella2 I have also constantly nagged them for months and the only straight answer I got was that not enough people had reported the issue for them to deal with it.

    As for 4XTra I left it on for 2 hours whilst I pottered in the garden and it was running fine when I came in ,I shall record something on 4/7 and 4XTra this evening

    and report back.

    @bella2

    I made recordings this evening on 4/7, 4Xtra and More4 which I just FF through and none appeared to have any pausing or black screen events so it looks like this update has also cured that older issue.

    I have not been here for a bit, I need to check ITV2 in the morning, I have had a update to my box but I don’t think it’s still ok

    I have had this from ITV :

    Thanks for your further email advising that it is just ITV2, that you have been experiencing an issue with.

    I apologise for the delay in responding. The engineering team at ITV have been looking into this and have advised that, as you stated no other TV’s in the household are suffering the same issues, this shows that there is no issue with the transmission of the ITV2 channel & no issues with the Freeview reception from the transmitter to your household.

    The engineering team have also advised that this specifically looks like a Humax Aura Set Top Box issue. They carried out a quick search and it appears that Humax have an ongoing software issue with their Humax Aura Set Top Boxes. Humax have put out the following statement on Monday 17th March:-

    “We are experiencing an elevated volume of contacts due to an issue affecting Aura set-top boxes, where certain channels may experience intermittent reception issues. Our development team is actively investigating the cause and working diligently on a resolution. At this time, no further action is required on your part. Once a fix is in place, it should be applied automatically. However, if you need an update, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We apologize for any disruption this may have caused”

    I hope that the above has helped, but, if you require any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to get back in touch.

    Thank you again for contacting ITV.

    Kind regards,

    @Jayp Why is it not ok now ? have you checked or is that just an assumption? that Humax post predated the update so is not relevant any more and all the recent posts since the update state it has fixed the issue for posters with none since saying it has not.

    Then you have no reason to suspect that the issue has not been resolved for you if you have already confirmed that you have received the update.

    It should update automatically. You can check version via:

    Settings > Apps > See all apps > Show system apps > Freeview

    Version should be: 1.00_67_250320_ec44a7d27
