InactiveDisappointing update for me – none of the epg or recordings screen layouts resolved.
Is a future update going to address these, does anyone know?

InactiveJust had a polite moan to Humax and they have suggested I try a different HDMI port on the TV. Let’s give that a go tonight. #PatienceOfASaint

Since this update which happened automatically I have been experiencing difficulty in turing the box on and getting a signal through to the tv. this has happened about 4 times. when I turned the box on I sometimes get no signal and have to reboot the humax by turning it off and on again at the wall before it will begin to work. Is there a solution for this.
Admin Note: Moved you post to thread already open on subject.
Have you tried turning off HDMI-CEC is the System Settings menu.
Failing that try turning off CEC on your TV if there is a setting for it.

InactiveSoftware update has trashed my machine too. It ran faultlessly since last November, but since the software update it’s misbehaving. After 5-10 minutes, the picture stutters and freezes and the remote no longer works at all. A restart fixes it all, but then it fails again after a while.
I’ve done a factory reset, but the problems persist.
Not very happy…

ModeratorRe picture stuttering, freezing.
I have been in discussions with Humax Support as I have witnessed the stuttering on live, and any timer recording at the time fails as the unit has to be power cycled.
This issue (amongst others I have spotted) has been reported to Humax Towers engineers for further investigations.
Why oh why Humax did not use the beta group to test this beforehand

InactiveOverall I have been lucky and found the update mainly an improvement. But there are still faults prevalent which were identified in the Beta. Netflix and recordings causing speaker clicks. The Netflix app appears to be the the same one as used for the Beta which had minor viual faults highlighted.
Fingers crossed for another update sooner rather than later.

InactiveSo Humax are exchanging the unit later this week. Slightly disappointed that I get a refurbished model as a replacement but we’ll see how that one fares. I’m less than 6 months into owning it so any more problems will be reported straight away. So very frustrating when the problem appears to be down to a software update!

Why are you not going through JL?
Are JL wiping there hands of it because it has had a software update?

InactiveSince this update, I’m having a few new ‘issues’.
1. When flicking through the channels using the channel up and down buttons, the information in the top right that displays the channel shows the right channel but the wrong program.
Instead of displaying what is being broadcast on the channel I switched to, it displays the program that was on the previous channel. So if I’m on ITV with Coronation street and channel up to Channel 4, it will display “Channel 4 – Coronation street.”
It might not look like a big issue, but I got the box to replace sky, and my elderly relatives are having trouble with the way they use it.
2. As has been said before, videos on the media player are in a totally random order that changes every time I go into it – not alphabetical as they were before the update – so I can no longer put one episode of a series on and let it just play the next episode, as I would before.
3. I’ve started getting the no signal message on lots of channels, and this is only cleared on powering it off and back on at the wall.
Does anyone else have the same as my problem 1?

ModeratorRe problem 1.
Have you changed the on screen Info Display Time?
Known issue reported to Humax Towers if set to below 5 secs.

I haven’t, but will do that now, thank-you. It makes sense as I had to do a full reset to be able to update to the latest firmware, and haven’t re-changed the settings.

InactiveA little update from me re the unit locking up with no picture when coming out of standby.
Always seems to be in the afternoon either while recording from Channel 5 or soon after. We watch TV in the evening and have never had an issue.
If it locks while recording, the recording still finishes ok (unless we pull the power on the box, obviously).
I’ve switched from wireless networking to a cable and that made no difference.
Last night I swapped a chunky (professional type) HDMI cable for a cheaper, thinner one to see if that makes a difference, we shall see.
When I phoned Humax they suggested trying a different HDMI port on the TV, that’s my next move after I’ve done the testing I want to do.
