Barry
ModeratorWelcome to our Forum

I have just checked iplayer and 4od on my HB 1000S and they appear to be working.
Suggest checking unit is actually connected to interent via settings, network connection.

InactiveDoes on demand on channels 901/903 work for you?
The problem you describe has been solved for those users who reported it this thread. The original problem was believed to be down to an overloaded freesat server which as compounded by the way freesat specified that on-demand checks were to take place. The principle symptom was getting a message when trying to access on-demand that it was not available and to try in a few minutes.
It could be the previous software version set flags which have not yet been updated. My suggestion is to place the unit on say BBC2 HD for an hour or two. This channel should receive freesat data faster than most.
p.s. Barry types faster than me – teach me to make coffee in the middle of a reply.

InactiveHi there,
I left it on bbc 1 while i went to work. ive just got back for lunch and still nothing. just a black screen whenever i try anything on demand.
Im on firmware 2.02.09 and the humax box is plugged by ethernet cable into my bt home hub 5.
Is there anything else i can try?
ill leave it on bbc 2HD while i go back to work shortly and see if that helps.
Its very fustrating as im all out of ideas.
Thanks

Try putting the Humax into standby and then when the disk has stopped spinning turn the Humax off at the mains. Wait a few seconds and turn it on again. If that doesn’t help try a different network cable. If that doesn’t help, try ringing (not emailing) Humax support to see what ideas they have.

InactiveDoes channel 901/903 work for you?
If those two do not then the problem is network/dns related.
Did you check the unit has acquired an IP address as Barry suggested?

InactiveThe poster is apparently seeing the player icons, which suggests the box does have a connection. If not connected, my HB1000S doesn’t show any OnDemand icons to click on. Instead the following message is displayed:
Quote:To get great OnDemand services like BBC iPlayer, etc., you need to connect your box to broadband.June 2, 2015 at 12:01 pm #55668Anonymous
InactiveHi,
no they do not work either. The 901 iplayer logo comes up but then when i press red as instructed, it goes to a black screen again.
nothing on 903.
Ive checked the network settings and all looks ok. its got an IP address, etc.
The secondary DNS is all zero’s though. is this the problem?
Thanks for your help with this guys,
Ben

InactiveWhat do you see on Showcase in the OnDemand section?

InactiveIt gets more interesting now

Well you problem is different from the ones in this thread – they all could still use 901/903.
You have an IP and the on-demand icons so you are connected to your LAN.
Can you confirm that:
1. Your PC uses automatic IP settings inc. DNS. (or otherwise)
2. Your router is set to use automatic settings from your ISP.
3. That your PC / other device can use the IPlayer via your LAN.

That’s the message the box displays while loading. It should eventually be replaced by the Showcase display of recommended OnDemand and OTA programmes. Does that happen, or does the loading message persist?

You should have mentioned that earlier.
I wonder if we have more than one problem here.
Will wait the answers to the other questions.

InactiveHi Repassac,
As far as im aware, everything is automatic.
im back at work at the moment, but i know in the past iplayer/4od has worked on a ps3 connected via ethernet.
I checked my phone would play iplayer yesterday via wifi and that worked ok.
I have not got any USB memory attached to the system if that makes a difference?

I’m thinking that it could be a variation on the original thread problem, as that affected only some boxes.
