Why would installing the app (and registering on Humax.Net) on an Android TV be any more resource intensive (as you suggested) than doing exactly the same on an Android phone?
Just to update app on tv debate,I have sideloaded app to Samsung smart tv via usb off the phone ,
It does need air mouse to control it but all recordings and downloads are there, but shows up in landscape on tv
Not in portrait, but when u press play it plays great happy days

There are quite a few “air mouse” apps available that you could try.
Yep rarely record in sd only when hd not available
Anyone else able to help me? I have a Hisense U7A,
Code 551 works for power off, but volume doesn’t work with that code and the buttons just make the interface go left/right.
Anyone know of any other codes I can use?
Have you tried pressing Red button and OK button simultaneously for 3 secs.

Apologies. But The only smart TV I have is the one attached to the Aura so pointless and its not an android TV. The other Android TV device I have. Aready has a built in IP server. So it can be remotely viewed on other TV’s with just a HDMI input using many other devices.

Is this a Samsung TV running Tizen as I do not think Samsung use Android?

The app will not connect to my box.. Been trying for last 24 hours! Both connected to same WiFi, privacy agreement agreed to, recording remotely set to on… But nothing. Anyone any ideas? Brian?
Do you have an account at http://www.myhumax.net I think that you need one before you can use the app.
No, already done that but thanks for the suggestion. Still not having it. I can access it using ftp server but just won’t link to the app. How strange
Without a free account you can’t use the app. Can you post how to access the FTP server ? I can’t find it on a laptop using FileZilla.
I downloaded x-plore app. Click on ftp then add server. Fill in the 192.168 etc number as shown when you enable ftp on the Aura. Then it’s connected. You can access all folders. Only vlc plays the recordings though. I do this on a Google tv chromecast to watch recordings in bedroom. You can also copy the recordings to another folder on another device, then simply rename them from .ts to .mp4 and watch them on any app.
Hi I’m sorry for confusion I just realised it’s a Sony android tv ,the Samsung is the
living room tv,but the app is running fine with air mouse
Maximus, what you have demonstrated is that the Aura app does work on devices other than mobile phones/tablets.
This is a massive bonus because it suggests that anyone with an Aura can stream directly to their Android television, or an Android media box, without the need for cables. I would like to think that the same will be possible with Apple TV boxes too.
In effect any android device can act with the Aura the same way that the (pretty dire) H3 was supposed to work with the 4000t/5000t.

Yep tried that. That’s how I found out the volume up/down buttons instead became left and right buttons
