InactiveThe fix I have noticed is that auto scan now works correctly and only stores one set of multiplexes from a single transmitter. Is that it?
I posted this on another forum about changes I noted with the auto tuning on pre-1.02.28, 1.02.28 and 1.03.06 firmware:
I am in an area where I can pick up all multiplexes from Sutton Coldfield and Brierley Hill and selected multiplexes (at lower strength/quality) from two other transmitters. This used to cause chaos on pre 1.02.28 firmware as it would just store the first occurrence of that multiplex and shunt the repeats up into the 800’s so you would end up with multiplexes tuned from 4 transmitters.
On 1.02.28 firmware it would ignore the two out of area transmitters but would still tune in both SC and BH. The region selection option would then only show West Midlands and selecting this would then give a mixture of multiplexes from SC and BH tuned in at the correct LCN’s (none in the 800’s). Not what you want for reliable recording.
Since moving to 1.03.06 it now also ignores the BH multiplexes and stores SC only so I no longer have to manually tune or remove and re-insert the aerial at the relevant points as it auto scans to avoid the BH multiplexes.

InactiveI think the better tuner scanning came in 1.02.32

Barry is the fix in 1.03.06 that you refer to in #57 the way it handles IPTV channels? most are still not supported by the HDR, but it doesn’t crash as it did in previous releases. I have noticed that LCN 231 Racing UK pulls up a menu page and Log In screen now
No not IPTV.

I had forgotten about 1.02.32 – I ran this prior to 1.03.06. Strange though because it’s only recently where auto scan has started to work correctly for me and I would have installed 1.02.32 as soon as a CF was available for it (which was early 2013 wasn’t it?). Maybe I am suffering from a bit of brain fade
I’m not going to roll back to 1.02.32 just to try it!It works correctly now and that’s all that matters.

Cool, cheers Barry.
Did not know about the BBC HD rec issue.. not noticed it myself.
I must admit I have seen the post over on DS and other forums about the BBC3/4 HD failed recordings and I do not suffer from any of these problems at all which I find very odd.

InactiveQuote:G4DDS : I had forgotten about 1.02.32Hey, you may be correct, there might have been further improvements in channel scanning built into 1.03.06, I’m in a single transmitter area so I can’t test this

It did, that’s what my parents are running in a multiple transmitters area.

InactiveBarry another guess at the new feature for 1.03.06 in #57, have they enhanced the App. store on TV portal? I can now add a new user to ‘Family’ (not sure if that was possible before) and I was wondering if android Apps. like Humax remote, Humax Live TV and Humax Media Player might now work on the HDR

ModeratorNot sure about the apps, in truth never seen/heard of them before to be honest.
Registering another user has been possible for quite a while, not sure which version it was but certainly before 1.03.06

InactiveCan I guess that the fix is for audio description?
January 27, 2014 at 9:29 am #45664Anonymous
Inactive@Chris, Audio description has remained unchanged since 1.2.27 when the logic for what to do when there was sound on both tracks got twisted around and also the HD AD volume was increased. I haven’t used HD on 1.03.11 yet but the logic is still twisted on 1.03.11’s SD.

InactiveBarry – whilst we appreciate that Humax will only release the next issue of Fox firmware when they are satisfied it meets all their quality standards (we would want nothing less), I think they could issue you with a list of the enhancements over the last 1.02.32 Jan 2013 issue. Clearly they would add a caveat that this is their best intention but items may be added or withdrawn based on their continuing testing.
This would keep us quiet, or quieter at least, and we’d have something to look forward to. I suspect they intend this as the last firmware upgrade for this model, or am I wrong there?
Maybe you could have a word with Humax Towers if you think there is any merit in this suggestion.

InactiveLarge hard discs supported is my guess at the new feature no-one has noticed. The current limits of 1TB and only MBR discs are going to be very tiresome soon, and Humax have to find discs to put into product as well as issues around external drives.

InactiveNo reply from Barry. This may mean I’m onto something with the large discs but he can’t confirm or deny

2TB would be trivial bigger than that is feasible but would need a rebuild of the Linux kernel used by the Humax.
