InactiveYes it is normal – it appears to me that it also stores a small section before motion triggered. In all cases so fa,r motion has ceased when the clip ends. will have to see what occurs if motion is continuous.

InactiveI wondered if it was down to the ‘free subscription’

InactiveI was checking https://www.y-cam.com/ out and saw this
*1 year free video cloud storage included from date of activation, after which a Y-cam subscription is required to record and access videos.
I assume as Humax do not mention this anywhere on their website it’s not the case for Eye. Anyone know for sure?

InactiveFurther to my post about LOCATION RECORDING not working as expected Humax CS have advised me to delete and re-instal the Y-Cam app and camera. This I have done. Now waiting to see if, when I go out, the camera picks up the mutley rushing to the front door. R-

InactiveI see the occasional miss also, however on my Android smart lock where location unlock is turned on I also get the Occasional need to unlock with pin or fingerprint.
I am wondering if the problem is failing to get sufficient GPS signals to identify location when indoors.

InactiveI have just noticed that when I go out now I get a message saying “See you soon Roger, Location recording is now off” and when I get back another one says “Welcome home Roger, Location recording is now on”
(didn’t think in time to take a screen grab). That is the first time I have seen those messages. I am Firmware version 20170615_v0920. Still monitoring. R-September 10, 2018 at 3:25 pm #86609Anonymous
InactiveGot an image next time around – wording not quite right in post above, but you get the drift. The phone needs to be a good way from the camera to trigger the changeover, and changeback – I would say around 150 meters. R-

My location recording used to work and now it’s stopped altogether. I was advised the same by CS and also to do a camera reset. None of this worked so I got a replacement which still doesn’t work for location recording. Additionally this replacement now triggers recording when night vision switches on and off. Adjusting the sensitivity doesn’t help.
I’m gonna request another replacement as the faults seem to be increased rather than solved

InactiveMorning, i keep getting Stream Unavailable on one of my cameras (i have two setup). I imagine this could be down to many reasons but wondered if one of them could be poor wifi signal/bandwidth?
On average the property this camera is in has a download speed of around 2Mbps.
The second camera in a different room (and closer to the wifi router) seems ok though.
Just looking for thoughts before i look at upgrading the broadband there to fibre etc
Thanks

InactiveStream Unavailable is the response I got when my WiFi and internet connection dropped this morning.
The app was unable to reach the camera – poor Wifi could well be the reason. Have your router issues an IP address to it?

InactiveThis camera works well but I had issues with the location facility which records when I’m out and doesn’t when I’m in. BUT the app for it which is from Y cam, only recognises my location when it is used with my 4G mobile service. With 3G it is very flakey. I now have 4G working on my phone and it has started to send me a goodbye and welcome home message each time I go out. So now I am pleased with it, so much so that I ordered a second one. They are still available from Humax for £49 if you search for them. (otherwise you might end up paying £99 or more.

InactiveY-cam technical support suggested my erratic location recordings were due to my Moto G4 phone. I’ve since had a new Xiaomi phone and still the same issues. Yesterday it knew I’d gone out but failed to recognise my return. Today it didn’t register I’d gone out.
Maybe it is due to signal strength (reasonable 4G) but other apps pick up my location both indoors and outside with no issues.
I may try testing it at another address.. if that is no better I’m asking for a warranty replacement.

Well they would say that wouldn’t they! Why accept you have a problem when you can blame someone else. Standard Operating Procedure.
