ModeratorTo those reporting the issue in this thread.
Could you please check your PM’s (private messages, see top right of forum)
(those neutral, no disrespect intended. Humax Towers and Digital UK want more info I do not want posted on open forum)
Edit: Sticking to top of Forum for a few Days, hopefully others who have reported issue will follow up on my request.

InactivePretty sure I get my signal from crystal palace and I also have no com7 channels. They are present on my tv tuner, so seemed to be a humax issue. Will be watching this thread with interest.
To be honest I’d not even realised the channels were missing. Suspect this is the reason for the low reported incidence of the problem

InactiveI notice that Hannington now has a “retune event” listed for 12 May, to add COM8. It will be interesting to see if we can’t get the new channels on that mux either
I’m still retuning every day to see what happens. So far, no sign of COM7 returning, even though my Panasonic TV shows a strong error-free signal on BBC4 so I’ve no reason to suspect my aerial or cabling.

steve-p – May be worth posting to the YouView forum about this, as the YouView boxes seem to have a somewhat different tuning strategy. If you mention it in the YouView forum, it might get responses from other YouView users in the Hannington area.

I hope that is a typo and you meant BBC4 HD

Yes, glad someone was paying attention

InactiveHad a conversation with DigitalUK. They denied there had been any changes at Hannington. Said there were no reported problems. Much to my surprise they suggested it was a Humax problem and to contact them. So, we continue to bounce between the two.

I did a number of Google searches for this problem. The only thing I came up with is this forum thread, which would lead me to believe it’s a problem restricted to Humax boxes.

InactiveThe Hannington “retune event” for COM8 was today. I have retuned and have 2 new utterly useless HD channels (both QVC) with 70% signal and 100% quality. Still no sign of COM7 though, even though it’s adjacent to COM8, and is apparently broadcast with 7 times the power. It’s odd.

COM7 is broadcast at the lowest frequency of all the Hannington multiplexies. It may be just beyond the frequency range of your current aerial.
UK digital gives COM7 as 36.7 kiloWatts and COM8 as 26.19 kiloWatts.
I suspect the 5.5 kiloWatt figure you saw was from the very first proposals for Hannington’s COM8 multiplex and would have changed more than once since then.

InactiveI still can’t understand why com 7 was ok for me for approx 3 months and then suddenly vanished and will not tune back in again and this is without any alteration to my aerial or any thing else.

I suppose it’s possible, but my TV has no problems whatsoever with COM7, and neither did my Humax receiver until very recently.

Same for me. TV still ok and Humax was ok until April 14 when COM7 dissapeared and I kicked off this thread. I would still love to get an answer as to the cause, which based on my searches only seems to affect Humax boxes in the Reading/Oxford region.
