Hi, the model you’re looking at is the EZRX, not the EURS as discussed on the thread so can’t comment on suitability I’m afraid, possibly others can advise.
Thank you, i can’t seem to pick up a EURS at a good price. Although i can pick up many other hard drives at around £45 for 1TB

….this is a 2TB unit on Amazon
I have a 500GB in at the moment so 1TB is more then enough and i might take a gamble on WD10EZRX.

So i have had a hard drive fail on me and wanted to know what hard drive would be best to replace it with?!
I assume you are certain that the problem is the hard drive and not the issue where a component on the Humax motherboard fails and makes the hard drive inaccessible?

I am not sure of this but unfortunately I don’t have a spare harddrive to hand to try it with. I suppose it’s a gamble. I’ve had the box over 2 years and it’s never failed on me.

InactiveHi, I am hoping the someone here can help as there doesn’t appear to be anything online about how to remove the case on a Humax HDR-1100s and upgrade the hard drive. The main issue I am having is that the case is different to the HDR-1000s range and does not have the 4 screws under the feet pads. Has anyone ever attempted a drive upgrade on the HDR-1100s that can help and advise on how to do it?

InactiveI suddenly experienced the ‘No recordings’ message yesterday on my HDR-1000S-500MB from 2014. Using the old Windows trick of removing power and re-starting, was relieved to find that, indeed, the recordings were still there. But how many times can I do this, and why must I do it? Is the error on the motherboard or a fault of the HDD? Anyone come up with the answer and/or a solution yet. Seems I am not alone. If the HDD is likely to be at fault, then what is the current make and model that is suitable for a 1TB replacement?
My old head is experiencing something of a quandary.

InactiveGot it, thanks.
If I were to use a WD HDD in going for an upgrade, is there any special designation needed as there is for the Seagate HDD??
I might add that I am quoted as being a junior member. Bit of a laugh since I shall reach 85 this year.

You need a AV drive. I recently fitted a new 2TB drive to my 1000S. I used this one.

InactiveHi guys, posted May 15 on this thread and now reached that point! Update please if WD20EURS is suitable?…
“Hi, can the WD20EURS 2tb be used to upgrade the HDR 1100S 500GB?”
Thanks

InactiveThat was good news. I take it that all is functioning as it should, too. I have made a note of the details and see that Amazon have 22 in store.
A further question on the same subject. Can the recordings on the original HDD be transferred over to the new one in any way, or is that simply a pipe dream? I have a USB docking station for SATA discs. Could that be used in any way?

InactiveYes the recordings can be moved. I think with a dock it will see them as external files and offer to import them to the videos (under home > Humax )
