InactiveI received an email from Humax saying ‘I have received information that the full version of the software is to be released on the 21st of this month which will solve all current issues with 4000T units.’
Whilst I had to laugh at the all current issues bit, if the reboot issue is fixed it will be a start.
As an aside, is anyone else concerned with the affect these reboots are having on the disk drive? Given it usually powers down when recording and/or playing a recording I can’t imagine it’s doing the disk any good. I only have 1 year warranty on mine as I only noticed the 2nd year warranty slip in the box after the first month and I’d only just started using it after moving house.

Are we to assume that even after the 21st Nov the 4000T will still not be FIT FOR PURPOSE! This is disgusting, especially because of the constant agro we are all experiencing re the random rebooting. We all ought to be compensated some way, shouldn’t we! Humax should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves, but I doubt it. The public at large need to be aware of the problems so they don’t make the mistake of purchasing the 4000T. Have already advised the manager at our local Currys/PC World.
I think you need to be aware that the email does not say it will be fixed on the 21st. It says things will be fixed in week commencing 21st.

InactiveAre you sure that they have all been deleted?
If you access the recordings page immediately after switching on, or after a reboot, it says that there are no recordings. I panicked myself when I first encountered this message, but they all eventually reappeared, it just usually takes a few minutes for them to show up.

InactiveWatching Strictly and six minutes from the end the picture just froze. Only answer was to switch power off at socket. Thankfully box rebooted in time for Planet Earth II recording. Humax should be totally ashamed that they brought this pile of scrap to market. Week commencing 21/11 surely has to fix these problems.

I guess you’re having the rebooting problem, and if so join the club. There is only one word to describe Humax at the moment, and that is pathetic. I purchased my box over twelve months ago and was more than happy with it. Great picture quality and rock solid reliability. Since then the software updates have turned the box into a piece of kit not fit for purpose. Humax have known about this rebooting problem for weeks and yet we have another two weeks for the next software update. No guarantee this will fix the problem. I’m no software engineer but could they have released the original software to at least make the unit stable until they were sure these problems could be fixed once and for all.

InactiveSo glad I found this thread. I was just about to buy a 4000T but now I think I’ll wait a couple of weeks in the hope that there is a positive response following the next Software update. Thanks

Funnily enough, that’s pretty much what they told me about the last update – it would cure all the problems. They forgot to mention that it would create a few more even worse ones……..

InactiveBarry have you any idea why only certain owners suffer the rebooting problem. Mine will go a week without one and then two within the space of a day. Just watching Lord Mayor’s show and the box decides to reboot. It’s so frustrating and I just hope the next software update cures this problem and the box returns to the reliability I enjoyed when I purchased the unit.
