InactiveSame thing happened to me the other month – box was stuck constantly rebooting, nothing would fix it, had to go back. Ring Humax.

InactiveHow is your box connected? Sounds stupid but have you tried turning the volume up on the remote to max? Humax seem to have really screwed up with this update.

InactiveOur humax HDR 1000S has been ok for 6 months give or take a few hiccups till last night.
A message popped up on screen to carry out updates and format the disc which we clicked OK.
Now have lost ALL specialised recorded programmes.
Can you restore them for me? No thought not I`m Not very happy now Humax!

InactiveMy hdr1000s is now updated with the latest release of the software but it still takes 2 minutes to change channel using the EPG. Anyone else have this problem

InactiveHumax support just told me to factory default the box (no mention of losing recordings) and turn the volume up to fix my issues.

A factory default will not affect your recordings. You will need to build your recording schedule again and also any changes to the default settings you have made (default volume for instance).
Why the default setting for volume is 50% is default is a mystery, at 100% the output is a standard level for analogue audio on most kit.
Most of us with Humax pvr’s turn up the box volume to max after a reset.

InactiveAh sorry, I thought I’d lose all recordings. As for the volume it is up at max but then HD channels are then too loud. I can’t find a good balance like I could before the upgrade.

In Home Settings Picture and Sound change Digital Audio Out from multi-channel to stereo.

InactiveI’ve noticed a couple of things since the update:
It takes longer to start up.
It discarded my manually set IP settings & forgets re-entered ones every time I put it in standby. A side effect of this, that I discovered, is the fact that YouTube doesn’t appear in ‘On Demand’ if the box isn’t on-line. Once I enabled DHCP on my router (which I prefer not to) the box starts up, connects to the router & YouTube appears.
It plays some media movies with the correct aspect ratio.

InactiveI’ve done the factory default, and the Freetime logo now appears quicker, but still no picture. It takes 1m30s to boot up from standby. Is this normal? It never used to take this long.

Mine takes 25 seconds to audio, 30 seconds to video and 35 seconds to now/next.

InactiveThe sound issue is a showstopper issue that needs addressing NOW. It leads to a huge disparity of volume that could break peoples speakers and cause complaints from the neighbours. The Youtube functionality is great and well designed. It is a welcome addition althouhg can cause a crash if you go between different videos too quickly in the search results. 5 on demand and 4OD need to get their act together.

Change Video/Audio settings to output stereo.
