    That IS the usual way I get it all going.

    It generally works best for me. It will likely vary with different TV’s. Could be a HDMI-HDCP handshake issue.

    More importantly did it sort out the problem ?

    I haven’t tried “handshaking it TBO, I didn’t think of that.

    A good/better buy than what? It appears to me to be a set top box without any recording capability.
