InactiveI suspect that the changes made to the s/w were specifically designed to accommodate the 1100 and subtle differences in h/w have caused the problems in the 1000/1010. Judging by the delay I further suspect that reconciling the two ranges is proving difficult.

Hmmm. So if it was a 1000S or a 1010S, it would automatically search for new software and if found would update itself.
Until very recently, a new release was available for the 1000S/1010S. Soon, we hope, there will be another new release with a fix for the bugs in the June 15 version. Clearly, this will be intended only for the 1000S/1010S.
Does this imply that the 1100S will not pick up a release destined for the 1000S/1010S?
More differences in the new box than expected, perhaps?
The thread title for the June 15th update includes the 1100S. Presumably if anyone had one in service on that date it would have updated. It has already been posted it has the same software. Barry would no doubt know the answer
No, the thread title doesn’t state what models it’s for. The Release Notes state 1000S/1010S.

A poster at AVforums has posted expecting a White one delivered tomorrow.
Had plenty of the white ones for a week now, not bothered setting one up to test though, the difference apart from form factor, loss of inputs and wifi means there is little point doing so. Looks much nicer though.

When the software was released, the existence of the 1100 series hadn’t been officially acknowledged.

It must have been under test for some time, though – I hope – and the software version it was signed off with would be the version it shipped with. Logically, it seems to me that version would not be the June 15th release, as it surely would not be shipped with a version known to be buggy.

It would not of course but I think that you under-estimate the time production, shipping and testing takes. Shipping by air, I think, would only be used for test units.

But would they let it go on sale with a version now known to be buggy?

If/when Freesat and Netflix ever do tie the knot, I assume Netflix will come to all models. But it does seem unlikely that it will ever come to any.
Give it time ๐

Ref my earlier post #46, who says it’s buggy in the 1100?

They didn’t think it was buggy when they released it for the 1000S/1010S.

However, I don’t mean to be argumentative. I suppose we’ll soon know.

ModeratorThe 1100S (edit: in black) I have came preloaded with 2.02.34
I believe there is a later version, but that only changes the model number as reported in system details.

Ah. That settles that!

Thanks Barry.

InactiveI presume this latest model also gets the out of focus, fuzzy, worse than SD Red Button prompt.
