My 1100s also rebooted last night. I starting recording ITV HD and then I pressed record on BBC1 HD. I then cancelled the BBC1 HD one recording as I expected it to prompt for a series link (I’m used to a Sky box which manages this a little better) but it didn’t. I then used the EPG to find the program and click OK on it to see if that prompted for the series link. It didn’t, so I just set it to record again and it rebooted…
Not major but annoying as it lost a few mins of the recording on ITV HD as well.
As an aside – should the 1100s prompt for a series link if you press OK in the EPG to record a program already started? Doesn’t offer series link option to me on the few times I have done it.
Yes it should offer series link provided you go via the epg, but it’s not that rare that the broadcaster omits the required series crid code.
If you highlight a programme in the epg, look at the top for the icons. The prescence of a series crid is shown by a cascading series of small rectangles.
You can’t set a series recording when the programme has already started. In this case the recording takes place from the time shift buffer so there is no access to the original crid codes.

OK! I just came back to say it didn’t do what you said…
How does the Sky box manage to do this? I just tested side by side and it works fine. It’s actually a feature that’s very handy to have to avoid forgetting to set it again.

What didn’t do what I said ? If you need to set a series recording for a programme already started you have to find the next occurrence in the epg to set one.

Before you edited the reply, I understood that it would prompt for series link on a program already started and it just happened to be unlucky. Now, since your edit, I understand that it just can’t be done on the 1100s.
Is there a reason why it couldn’t be implemented? Does the Sky EPG continually send series link info but the Freesat EPG only sends series link info for future programs?

Never having had a Sky box, I have no idea. Clearly Sky uses a different system for series recording. It’s always been the same afaik on all Freesat+ boxes. I don’t know at what stage after a recording has started the CRID codes become unavailable, perhaps another member may have more information.

Just getting used to the transition from a Sky box. There’s a couple of things both interfaces do better than the other, so it’s a compromise!

InactiveI cancelled and deleted all recordings. No reboots in 3 days!! Not ideal but will suffice until new firmware is made available

InactiveHi. Just an update to say the problem of reboots has gone away.
I was on holiday for ten days shortly after the problem arose. Left box on standby.
I also used Android remote app a couple of times to set recordings and all ok.
Assuming I had the same problem as everyone else I can only assume the Freesat advice, Satellite signal, was the cause or a firmware update has taken place. I didn’t do anything.
Hope everyone else is finding problem has stopped.

InactiveBet there was some colourful language over that one.

InactiveSorry I find that explanation hard to swallow, mine only ever did it on the Friday night I joined this forum. I don’t think I had any recordings with special characters or any overly long titles. I never deleted any recordings, I just left it powered down over night after factory resetting it, and have never had the problem again. I have also never used the set up by mobile function.

If you deleted the expletives it might have recorded.
Bet that took some finding.

I guess it’s not the programme title, it’s the much longer programme details you get when pressing the info button. As these sort of odd characters will be rare, it’s not surprising it’s infrequent. Mine rebooted Tuesday recording Lewis and River, first time in many weeks. Unfortunately I have deleted the curtailed recordings so can’t check the text.
