Thanks to you both. The selection of DVBS or S2 is taken care of by my August USB receiver on a windows laptop which is dedicated to Freeview. I use MediaPortal as PVR. My main computer is a desktop with four HDs which I use for my video camera editing with the Sony editor plus my e-mail etc. The formatting to Ext3 was done on this computer.

19.2 carries the French and German European Astra1 channels plus Sky News international (which is the UK Sky News with fewer ads.) and a few English speaking channels but no Freesat. This is on Astra2 at 28.2 which also carries some UK movies channels and the UK Sky news on the Pan European non freesat beams. From what you say you are using a single dish and re aligning it by using two LNB heads on this dish.

Thanks Graham and Malcolm, from what you say I should have no problem using the diseqc switch installed in Spain.

Apologies. You are correct regards Astra. FreeSat will configure S and S2 accordingly for its transducers when it downloads its database, and many satellites should have the correct pre-configured transponders in Humax already. It is only an issue if you add transducers manually or need to change. Astra has many S2 transducers so you may need to check.

Yes, I have a single dish with two quatro LNBs that feed into a 9×12 multiplexor (Triax) that pipes signal around the house so people can watch any channel at any time any place.
