Ok so i guess there is no fix for this from humax!! you’d think it would be

easy enough to either send it via the sat signal or since the box is internet

    connected that way at least.

Oh well i’ll make sure to buy nothing that says humax on it going forward.

as i said in another thread unlike today the ole days were better you only needed a TV + VCR they always worked for ya and everything that was worth watching was on the five free channels.

Total waste of my time joining up here!!!

A USB stick can be purchased for a couple of pounds (or borrowed for nothing). In the time it took you to throw your toys out of the pram and type your reason, you could have sorted yourself out. 🙄

    Thanks to everyone for input.

Can somebody please confirm the firmware version that includes the fix please?

    Cheers

The Humax website offers this version as the latest:

    Software Details

    • Application version : UKSFAC 3.00.94

    • Loader version : UKSFAC 1.00

    • Update date : 07 FEB 2018

    • Micom version : 1.10

    • System id : 809C.7D11

So my fallback actually would rewind me back to before the version I’m on now.

And Humax Customer Support emailed this:

    Good Afternoon,

Firstly I offer my sincere apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

We had partially released a fix for the Youtube search issue back in January but unfortunately customers had reported back it hadn’t solved the problem, we went back and have been reworking the fix to over come this and it is due to be released very soon, I don’t have an exact ETA at the moment in time.

    Best Regards,

    Ted

I think support are confusing the 4000/5000T update that did indeed need a tweak and the freesat fix which has worked for over 60 members who have asked me for the software, not one report of issues received.

    For crying out loud! 🙄

You have been offered the patch, just accept the offer, install it and you will have a working YouTube. It may not be perfect but it’s better than nothing. And when any niggles have been resolved, I’m sure that it will be integrated into a firmware update down the line.

    Stop being so paranoid.

Thanks all for your ongoing support. I’m not being paranoid at all but admit that I do take my systems’ software quite seriously. Because of this and various other issues, I’ve relegated my Humax Freesat box to my secondary system, reverting to my Humax YouView box (ironic?) which features far superior software IMO, but doesn’t include YouTube (which I really wanted during lockdown as so many artists released content onto the platform).

    Cheers

It would be very helpful to get the firmware version if possible.

    Thanks again.

Sorry, this was intended for Barry. I’m just wondering what the Humax firmware version number will become after I install the “patch”.

    Thanks.

    3.00.98 is the version number.

Which unit do you require the software for?
