I was having this ondemand issue but got resolved. Can I check if you are seeing showcase all ok and just missing ondemand? or both showcase and ondemand are missing.
-try these. watch some tv ie bbc 1
-Unplug the power from back and plug it back in.
-go to settings> network connection>connect automatically. this should give you success and would get you an ip address
-usually what I do is go to shwocase, when the new shwocase menu loads with all the images, scroll to the most bottom image on the far left and far right corners.
-navigate back to Ondemand section and then I can see the players.
Try that and let me know. Peace

I imagine it’s resolved for everyone for the time being. Freesat seem to be having strange difficulties keeping the service on its feet, but for now, it seem to be back. The Zoo cam issue is a different question, which I probably shouldn’t have posted in this thread. Apologies.

InactiveAll back to working fine here.
I rather think freesat owe us all an explanation or two.
EDIT: I see their advice has been updated today (14/10/14)

Not very encouraging. They still seem to be thinking it’s a user-end problem. I don’t see how that can be. Or not solely a user-end problem.

I think, that they think, they have fixed the problem (for now at least).
Strange list of questions – what make and model + you should be running firmware version UKFSAA 2.02.01.
The broadband section is also strange. Why not ask if you can access channel 901 and play something. Proves connectivity plus ability to resolve a url and a adequate speed.

Got a mail from Freesat today with the following instructions.
1) Have the set-top box connected with a working internet connecting and working satellite feeds.
2) On the Humax box please conduct a factory reset
Go to settings/system settings.
Select factory default and confirm by selecting reset system.
Select yes on the reset system screen.
Enter 0000 unless you have set a personalized pin.
3) Let the box boot up to the Freesat setup screen.
4) Complete the setup with a valid internet and satellite feed connected to the set-top box.
5) Once the set-top box has booted to the home screen, press the exit button on your remote control.
6) Leave the set-top box for 1 hour.
7) Place the box into standby mode for a few seconds.
Power the box on.9) Press the home button on your remote and load showcase (which should now be working).
10) Press home and select On Demand.
Tried all that.
Still have no On Demand from Menu and Showcase is unavailable.
Can still access BBC/ITV players on 901/3.

InactiveHi evilivor,
can you roll back the 7 day guide or are you getting just 2 days guide?
Mine worked, just trying to access what could have gone wrong, as from freesat website, they said some customers are having issues.

InactiveJust to report I tried all the fixes including the factory reset, leaving it for an hour etc. after contacting humax technical and it didn’t seem to make any difference so I just carried on using the box without the <freetime> from the EPG as it was not that inconvenient. Yesterday I forgot and rolled back from EPG and it is working again on all channels that it worked on originally not just BBC2 SD. I don’t know if it’s just a temporary fluke or if Humax has done something but thanks for the help anyway.

Mine came back yesterday and all I did was leave the box on all day. Everything working today as it should.

InactiveI suspect the temporary problems with the rollback EPG, which a number of us encountered last weekend, may have been an unintended consequence of Freesat’s attempts to resolve the “no Showcase, no On Demand” problem.
The “no Showcase, no On Demand” problem seems to have come right for most but not all. (I’m just going by the posts here in this forum)

Can’t get rollback at all h-man – getting the full 7 day guide on the box but no rollback and, as I mentioned, no On Demand or Showcase.

hmmm…mine worked, can you tell us about your IP settings, do you know how to set the Ip addresses etc manually? try changing the DNS manually to a known DNS eg 8.8.8.8 and let me know.
Thanks

Actually, I thought myself that the DNS settings might be an issue so I went fiddling with the manual settings, without any knowledge to be honest, in case I could do some sort of reset.
I shall try the 88 tonight.
Nice email from Freesat today; apparently they are phoning a cohort of affected customers tonight to try and rectify the issue. I’m not on the call sheet but hopefully some knowledge will be gained from the exercise.

Inactiveevilivor – that you posted you could get 901/903 indicates your DNS can resolve correctly.
