So I now appear to have another issue, when I skip forward on an ad hoc basis it skips backwards instead, has any one else experienced this?

Just some additional info ref using Jellyfin for Android TV.

If I use JF4ATV, on my box, it’s prone to freezing when starting to play certain video from my Jellyfin server. JF4ATV doesn’t do this on my Android phone, so has to be the box, one may think.

I found that if the JF4ATV Preferred media player is set to use VLC for Android, all appears well. In fact, VLC gives better options over the inbuilt default player(s)?

So now I’m able to use JF4ATV just by using the remapped Kids button. Happy Bunny.

Mind you, still have flicker and blank screen problems from t2t no matter what the source.

If you have a 4K Tv it will always show a 4K picture. It has to do this because every pixel on the the screen has to have data. No TV provides this information, there is no need to do so.

What you need is a way to see what signal is being input by HDMI. Whatever it is it will get scaled to 2160P.

Obviously the poorer the video quality being sent to the TV the worse the scaled image will look.

In auto the TV tells the Aura it can do 2160p so it sends 2160p whatever the source is.

If set to manual you can choose what the box outputs. eg tuned to bbc1- HD it will have a source of 1080p25 or 10801 50 fields/second depending on the data within the GOP that the decoder is decoding. Freeview-HD allows mixed gops so can constantly switch between progressive and interlaced.

If the aura is set to output 4K50 it will scale either to to 2160p50.

It would be great if the Humax could just switch the output resolution based on the source resolution and allow the TV to upscale. I don’t even know if that’s possible but the Aura’s upscaled image is not as good as the samsung tv I have.

Allows the remote to control other kit like a TV. See page 54 in the manual. that would be changing the selected HDMI input on a TV.

This started today – it has been working perfectly since day one and only occurred this afternoon when I switched it on.

The programme cannot be viewed via HDMI connection because your TV does not support digital content protection (HDCP). Disconnect the HDMI cable and connect composite video connector to watch the programme in standard resolution.

Display Format : Auto (tried Full as well)

Resolution : Auto (tried lots of other settings as well)

    Kernel : 4.9.189-1-12pre#308 Sun Sep 27 11:59:49 KST 2020

    Television LG webOS TV OLED55C8PLA

I have disconnected the Humax from the TV HDMI socket – the cables are fine high quality ones.

    Suggestions would be welcome :)

Are you using the HDMI cable supplied with your aura?

I have seen this using a LG OLED C9. On my setup which goes through a AVR does a double HDCP handshake Box to AVR AVR to TV. It goes away in about 10 seconds if ignored. Does yours not do the same ?

Brian : Very expensive gold plated, shielded cables that have been in use for about 5 years with other equipment (Sly / Sky Q) and never been an issue. Also connects Soundbox and Video with same cables.

Graham : Does not go away – waited 5 minutes now and still the same message!

More Info 1 : Cannot view recordings that I made yesterday, even though I watched it last evening, it is now “blocked” by the message above.

More Info 2 : TV Reset to Factory Default = No change

    UPDATE :

Hard Power Off of the HUMAX seems to have cured the issue, all I have to do now is reload apps on the TV and reset the sound/video etc.

Should have tried the good-old “three finger salute” first of all, shouldn’t I?

Thanks for the prompt responses and ideas. Hope this helps others if they get stuck.
