While recording 200 and 973 I can watch all other channels.
There’s nothing else connected to the LNB.
I don’t use padding.
On the face of it you should be able to record everything you can set from the epg from low power sby. Make a note of your schedule and report any failures. 2nd tuner must be working fine.

InactiveRecording failed again last night, BBC2 Scotland HD at 8.30pm. It powered up at 8.14 as it should but did not actually start recording until I switched on at about 8.50. Other recordings earlier (7.30-8 BBC4HD) and later (9-10 C5HD) were ok. I think I switched off around 7.20 after listening to R4FM. Could that be significant?

ParticipantSounds like a issue at BBC 2 Scotland. It should have started recording when the current programme switched to the recording. Keep an eye on the epg, when the current programme switches to the one you have set BBC 2 should send send the change in running status to start the recording. Was the programme actually transmitted ? There may also be a CRID issue. Guessing the programme was University challenge. If Scotland was showing a different episode to BBC 2 England and they didn’t have the correct CRIDS scheduling the Scottish one may have generated two recordings. I take it it you didn’t check the schedule before to see if there was two set. eg Same series CRID but different Programme CRID.
Next week try deleting the BBC 2- HD England channel.

InactiveSorry, my mistake, it was BBC2 HD. I don’t think it’s a prob at the far end, this has happened too often in the past few weeks and not at all previously afaik.
Also, I now see the 9pm recording was not ok but started 23 mins late. Don’t remember exactly when the box was switched to and from standby, I was alternating between it and All4/iPlayer on the PS3.
Really sorry for wasting your time with misleading info, you’ve been very generous so far (as always).

From time to time we do get issues with channels that appear in the Scottish Nations Channels And also in the Welsh And English Nations epg’s.
It’s not unknown for some reason for Scotland to show a episode at a different time to the other nations and all channels share the same series CRID.
What happens is when you schedule the Scottish Version the box correctly identifies the first episode in the epg with a earlier start so generating multiple recordings. If more than 2 are found you get an error message.

InactiveJust checked the schedule for next week’s ep and it’s definitely BBC2 HD, not Scotland. Also, it runs at the same time on all channels, next week anyway.

ParticipantI have set University Challenge as a series from Next Monday on BBC 2 HD. I will let you know what happens. If you post other recordings around same time I will replicate.

InactiveThanks. It happened again last night, BBC2 HD again, scheduled for 8pm but did not start until I switched on a few minutes later. Saving Lives at Sea.

InactiveBBC two HD is a vertical polarised channel.
When the unit was switched on and stared recording, was what it recorded OK or not? Do you recall what channel it was tuned to on switch on?

ParticipantThis is a tad baffling, on the face of it it can only be down to a Accurate recording issue, but why the box can’t see the vertical transpoder in sby suggests that it cant monitor the vertical transponder till it’s powered on.
Try setting a manual recording for a horizontal and vertical channel with same start and end times and put the box in sby 30 mins before start is due.
Pick any two from the following and ensure both are from different transponders.
950 BBC 1 London 10773 H
951 BBC 1 CI 10773 H
952 BBC 1 E Mids 10788 V
953 BBC 1 East (E) 10788 V
954 BBC 1 East (W) 10773 H
955 BBC 1 N West 10802 H
956 BBC 1 NE & C 10802 H
957 BBC 1 NI 10817 V
958 BBC 1 Oxford 10817 V
959 BBC 1 S East 10802 H
960 BBC 1 Scotland 10802 H
961 BBC 1 South 10817 V
962 BBC 1 S West 10817 V
963 BBC 1 W Mids 10788 V
964 BBC 1 Wales 10788 V
965 BBC 1 West 10773 H
966 BBC 1 Yorks 10802 H
967 BBC 1 EYrks&L 10788 V
968 BBC 2 England 10773 H
969 BBC 2 NI 10817 V
970 BBC 2 Scotland 10802 H
971 BBC 2 Wales 10788 V
972 BBC ONE HD (England) 10847 V
973 BBC 1 Scot HD 11023 H
974 Channel 4 10714 H
975 Channel 4 + 1 10729 V
976 BBC 1 Wales HD 11023 H
977 ITV 10758 V
978 BBC 1 NI HD 10847 V
If this doesn’t work it could be down to a dirty DC power issue with the box itself.

InactiveOne thought Graham – Assume one LNB port cannot tune to vertical channels and therefore will not spot the start signal. When the unit is powered up the last channel is displayed and the updated running status is spotted.
I would be interested if he can record one vertical (with good recording) and tune to another on a different transponder.

Op has already confirmed all available vertical and horizontal options can be viewed with tuner 1 fully used to record two channels. Including both high and low band options. Only way that’s possible is if tuner 2 is transmitting the 1Khz tone to switch the lnb segment it’s connected to. to high band working and 12.5v to 14.5v to get vertical and 15.5 to 18v to get horizontal polarisation.
If tuner 1 is not outputting clean 12V DC that is known to screw up other lnb ports (as in the notorious Sky boxes with CapXon capacitors).

I didn’t check the recording (just watched live then deleted it) but on all previous occasions the recording has been fine apart from being short.
I deliberately set it to BBC2 HD before switching off at about 7.20. The previous evening, when the same thing happened (except only the scheduled time, 8.30), it had been on R4FM.

Did this using BBC1 HD and BBC1ScHD, both recordings successful.

Can you try this with option to record only each programme from the epg as that should invoke accurate recording to start both ? Repeat with the two previous programmes added which will require previous programme to signal it’s completed.
