Don’t want to tempt fate, but my box mysteriously reset itself earlier in the week, and since then all my C4 recordings have been fine
Oh no! Not another factory reset to carry out. I’m fed up with having to do this every couple of months with all the attendant setting up of accounts, passwords and various other settings etc.

You can back up all the settings including timers if you want to do a reset. I have done it a couple of times and has worked well. Just import them once you have done your reset.

This sounds useful, never looked at backing the settings up, does it need to be on a USB stick?

No, it just backs up to an area on the Aura itself, its very quick.

I tried that but after a Factory Reset there was no backup data available.

Full Reset, not Freeview Reset. I haven’t tested whether a Freeview Reset would cure the Home Screen startup problem (I went for the nuclear option).
I have done a full reset and still been able to restore my settings. As long as you do not format the hard drive you should be fine.

I must admit I only tried it once after saving the settings. When I tried to import them I got a message along the lines of “nothing to import”. I’ll try it again next time I have to reset the box.

I think I had that message once, so I imported again and it was all there.

No factory reset, just deleted the scheduled recording for ‘The Great British Bake-off’ for C4 HD and re-added it on Tuesday this week. Then did a restart from the Settings menu. The programme recorded perfectly whereas the previous weeks I was also getting 1 min recordings.
I’ve done the same for Taskmaster for tomorrow’s programme. Hopefully that works too.
Anybody else got a good recording for Bake Off on C4 HD?
So far this week all our Channel 4 recordings have been successful including Bake Off on C4HD. The F1 also recorded without issue on Sunday and Monday.
I’ve had no further feedback from Humax or C4 to say anything has been fixed so will have to continue to keep an eye on it.

Individual or series record?
I currently only have two C4HD programmes in my schedule – ‘Jamies One Pan Wonders’ and ‘Grand Designs’. I have one schedule set for series record and another set for a 65 minute manual record. This week so far, all recordings have worked properly, but only time will tell if the issue is fixed.
