ModeratorIt might be working by then

Edit: Working for me now via on demand menu, but not backwards EPG, believe it might take time for data to be updated.

This is quite hilarious – my missus, unaware of the software update, accidentally deleted an entire series of Kid’s programs while my 7 year old son looked on.
She was in the dog house for the rest of the evening lol.
I think there should be conformation screen ( like the youview box has) before it actually delets

Five if you count the one that opens the selected pgm. Superb picture quality is one big positive. Indistinguishable from the original transmission and no “loading” pause. Very nice.

InactiveHDMI switching changes suck! I’ve just tried copying a recording over to my DVD recorder. Once the recording was running I put the TV into standby and it switched the box off and cancelled my recording to disc.
This means that you have to leave your TV on when dubbing to DVD, which is not very economical or eco friendly.
I decided to pull the HDMI cable from the back of my TV so the switching would not occur. Doing this actually switched the box off. However, turning the box back on with the cable out does work as I was monitoring the picture through the DVD recorder which is connected with scart cables.
What a bloody problem they’ve caused by this upgrade. The home screen on startup sucks too.
They seem to have fixed things that weren’t broken and ignored the things that are.
Well pissed off and seriously regretting buying this box even more than before.

The non licence fee funded channels need to make a living. They need to be able to assure potential advertisers that now and again there will be situations that will involve the viewer sitting through the adverts as opposed to fast forwarding past them. Unless, of course, they get up and put the kettle on or go for a pee.
This is how the majority of TV is funded we can’t always expect something for nothing.
At least it’s being delivered for free; apparently their is another TV platform that charges you monthly to view their content and still bombard you with adverts.

Well rather than getting peeed off and blaming the box or its update, why not just do the simple thing and turn off your TVs HDMI-CEC function?
Voila Problem solved.

This may be fix for some, but if you have other equipment connected to your tv that worked perfectly well with HDMI CEC this is a even bigger pain.

Does your TV not have the option to turn off the function for each device that’s connected?

InactiveI’ve just been through all the menus on my Panasonic Viera TV and I cannot see any mention of anything to do with the HDMI connections.

ModeratorIs the HDR 1000S connected to HDMI 1 input?
If so try moving it to another.

InactiveYes it is connected to HDMI 1. My Bluray player is in HDMI 2. I will try swapping them over. Thanks for the suggestion Barry.

ModeratorI don’t have a Panny, but this has worked when users have had problems with CEC and other devices.

Have you got anything in the menus that maybe called Viera Link?
