InactiveA bug in fast-forwarding recordings?
I made a short recording of 14 mins. I wanted to see the last few minutes so went into recordings, brought up the specific one and started FFx32. As it reached the last few mins I was distracted and it carried on FF to the end and dropped out back to the “Recordings” screen. At which point the box was frozen. Powered off/on via R/C and all was OK except when I went into “Recordings” I got a blank screen and the box froze again. Had to pull power supply to clear.

ParticipantJust tried this with 1Hr 35 mins recording (CH4-HD). Used the cursor keys to get about 15 minutes from the end. Engaged x32 and left it. It just went back to my recordings. No freeze exit worked as usual.
Which channel just in case that’s relevant ?

Hello everyone
I’m new to this forum but not to Humax, as I have previously owned a 9200, Foxsat HDR and now the HDR 1000s.
I also have recordings that continue after they should have ended.
Signal strength on 407 is good, quality good.I know others are leading with this problem so I will just wait for a solution.
My unique problem, or at least I think it is. I am unable to hear sound on any backwards EPG programmes I watch. I think it may be a setting but cannot find which one. just to add, I listen through an onkyo HTX 22 normaly but even when I listen through the tv’s own speakers there is still no volume.
any help much appreciated.
Hi Freetime and welcome to the forum.
First time I have seen this issue reported. I am connected to a Denon amp by hdmi and analogue connections (the latter is used to feed a rf modulator to distribute the pictures) and by s/pdif to a pair of surround headphones with their own ac3 decoder. Audio is present on all of them.
On my system VOD is actually somewhat louder than live content.
Can you try a scart lead to the TV just to eliminate a hdmi audio problem ?
Thanks Graham
I have found a solution that works but don’t know if it is satisfactory.
Settings>picture and audio>Stereo and it works.
Previously it was set to multichanel.I assume this will affect my audio when watching HD content?

Yes it downmixes Dolby Digital (2.0 and 5.1) to lpcm stereo (which is what will be carried on the scart lead). Presumably your amp does 5.1 like mine ?

3) On demand issues with buffering – modem speed 4.5mb but on the box the BBCi sometimes pauses, judders and slows down.
Re 3 – i currently have an issue with my Virgin broadband connection which is experiencing dropped packets causing freezing web browsing / freezing radio streaming (non humax) and juddering / freezing iplayer TV (humax and non humax).
The 1000S when ‘suffering’ bad internet connection dropped packets not only freezes the iplayer playback but completely freezes up – requiring power off / power on to get it working again. It does not seem to be able to handle bad internet connections gracefully allowing exit from the on demand service. It would be good if the buffering could be increased to deal with poor internet connections.
Also, the ff/rw for iplayer jumps about 7 minutes per press which is a pain when trying to continue an interrupted programme. x2, x4 etc ff/rw and ability to select a start time would be nice or at least 1 minute jumps per ff/rw press.

ITV1. I’m going to try to replicate it.

Yes the amp is 5.1 so I would like to have it working properly, but as a work around this will do for now. I’m going to recheck my HDMI connections before anything else.

You ought to know by now that remote controls are reserved for males

Selecting channels as favourites, should remove the need to delete any channels you don’t want to see on the epg.
At the moment you have to reselect favourites using the list button after displaying the guide. One of the requested improvements is to make your favourites view of the epg remain selected (sticky
) until you change it. A good idea i think

InactiveWe’ve had two failed recordings on our Foxsat HDR in the last few days – I came across this thread looking for an answer.
Dallas – Wednesday 31st Oct 21.00 Channel 5
Dallas – Thursday 1st Nov 23.00 5*
Coincidence? Both recordings have the blue symbol on the media list and say “recording has failed – unknown reason” when you try to play them. Other recordings have worked fine before and after these ones.
Channel 407 has almost perfect signal strength and all orange or almost all orange on the signal quality bar. Anyway, the channel plays fine. Since we’ve had our Foxsat box, even the poorest signal quality channels have so far held up even during the most extreme rain we have had.
Regards,
Reg.

InactiveChannel 5 has a very poor record in the programme and series identification / signalling department.

Fine here – checck that the HDMI cable is well seated in TV and HDR.
Sorry for the tardiness in replying, its been a busy weekend. The HDMI seems to be well seated, and a change of cables and HDMI ports on the TV seem to not correct this. I’m wondering if the box has an issue, but it seems strange that it corrects itself by quickly switching to standby and back. I might try and replace the unit and see if that would solve the issue.

InactiveWell (touch wood) since I did a factory reset (corrected the clock on front display) all my recordings have been fine. Real shame that Humax launched just before the clocks going back. Bet they wish they had forseen that one. Hopefully all okay now. Does anyone else find the page info for where you are in recordings over complicated?

ModeratorThe clock issue was only a front display issue not EPG timings.
Missed recordings Chan 5 were also reported on G1 units, however from my testing they appear to have corrected that problem today… we shall see as the week progresses, left the timers set for now (do not normally watch/record Chan 5 at all)
