ParticipantBased on very little information. it’s looking like users with Com 7 can record both BBC3 HD and BBC4 HD. Those of us without COM 7 cannot. How odd

InactiveI’m using Crystal Palace so have access to COM 7 but I can’t successfully record either BBC Three HD or BBC Four HD despite being able to view both with no problems.

InactiveI had my first failed recording on BBC Four HD tonight. I am running the Custom Firmware and could see the file size increasing as the recording progressed, ending with a 3.22GB file. Yet when I tried to play it on the HDR is said its a 0 (zero) minute file and cant play it.
I transferred it to my PC and it plays perfectly. I noticed that the side-car file .nts had a file size of 0 (zero).
That is the issue, but have no idea what can be done about it!

InactiveThere seems to be a slight problem with my BBC THREE HD recording of Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide. I went to check it in my recordings, and it was showing as 0min and when attempting to play it, I got the “Recording (less than 30 secs) may not be stored.” message.
The strange thing is that the recording IS stored, it is shown in the webif media files as 3.34GiB. I am currently watching this recording via the web interface.
It looks as though the problem could be down to the NTS file, which was 0 bytes for this recording.
Edit: After removing the HMT, and NTS sidecar files, the recording is now fully playable on the HDR-FOX T2.

InactiveSame as me then Brian. Let’s hope that there is a solution soon!
We still don’t know who/what is to blame though. Broadcaster or Humax etal!

That’s a great spot.

ModeratorI alerted Humax Towers as soon as posts started to appear about failures on BBC 4 HD, and have followed up with the latest info since.

InactiveAlthough recordings show as failed on BBC 4 HD and BBC3 HD on my HDR T2. I deleted the BBC3 ‘recording’ and the free memory increased by 4 GB. I can record BBC4 HD on my Sony Bravia KDL 32W 653 to a USB memory stick and view playback OK.

InactiveIt is looking like the problem with these recordings is not the main title.ts file but the title.nts and title.hmt ‘sidecar’ files that are also generated by the Humax, as highlighted by Brian in #34. The title.ts file isn’t zero length, it is just being reported that way

InactiveHumax towers are very quiet on this issue.
Come on guys keep your customers informed of developments.

Is that because the only content it has is the filename ?. Anybody had a look with a Binary/Hex editor ?

ParticipantThis sounds like the exact same problem as was experienced on the Foxsat HDR when the Olympic HD channels were added last year. The ts files were being created but zero length nts files resulted in the box reporting recordings of less 30 seconds. This was resolved with a firmware fix from Humax.
