Sorry I haven’t replied for so long. Thank you very much for your very kind offer Martin I’m not sure I should put you to that trouble. I shall at least try to see how far I can go with advice on this or the other forum. I’ve managed to reconnect with telnet via PuTTY after going in maintenance mode and selected fixdisk but it couldn’t find the disk. Should I join the other forum and ask there if there’s anything I can try? Thanks.

Worth a try. User Black Hole has a guide to troubleshooting at https://hummy.tv/forum/threads/steps-for-resolving-hdr-fox-crash-reboot-issues.5320/ but I don’t think you will lose anything by asking if anybody has any ideas about what to do. Still happy to help.
