InactiveYou may be right about SCD since this features in response to a question…
“Q: I’ve learned that the iCord Evolution has four tuners. But there are only two antenna inputs; how can this work?
A: Even more independent recording and streaming possibilities result with a “” one-cable solution “” and four “” user bands “”. Give us a call or contact us by e-mail. We would be pleased to provide you with further information on this topic! “

ParticipantFrom the link I posted
Important note:
Quad Tuning – This receiver is capable of quad tuner operation when used in conjunction the a SCD system. Under standard LNB conditions the unit operates as a twin tuner.
DiSEqC – is availanble under DiSEqC 1.0 and 2.0 allowing simultaneous reception of up to four satellites via a DiSEqC switch. A large range of satellites are pre-stored with the facility for the user to add their own.

Inactivelooking at UNICABLE II. It would appear you can also use a QUATTRO LNB via a SCD Switch

InactiveARRIS have been selected by Freesat as the partner for the new G3 set-top box. Could we be seeing the end of Humax involvement with the platform?

InactiveIt would have been better to have selected multiple partners, however I am glad the idea of a G3 unit is still alive and well.

InactiveDoes anyone know who Arris is/are? What are their credentials in producing this type of hardware/software i.e. better than or worse than Humax.
Personally I will be sorry to lose the Humax brand. The other issue of course is there’s still precious little UHD material so it could be a product ahead of its time.

So, they acquired Pace, Sky’s old set top box manufacturer. They used to make some decent kit, so there may still be hope of something good then.
I wonder why they are dropping Humax? simply down to Arris coming up with a better financial proposition or some other as yet unknown reason

InactiveOnly if they acquired the Pace personnel and expertise that went into designing and making those boxes. After all these years I fear their current technical personnel may well be out of the loop.

InactiveHmm! that’s odd. It appears my last post has been deleted. Looks like someone maybe having a sulk regarding news of the new UHD box.

There’s masses of info on Arris available online. They certainly look to have an impressive product line-up covering a broad range of technologies.
Sorry to lose Humax? They haven’t turned out a completely successful, universally praised (by users) product in the past 6 years. Not a one. What’s to miss? I’m not at all surprised that Freesat have jumped ship. Product ahead of its time? Can only be an improvement on the mediocre, buggy, poorly featured products that Humax have been famous for recently.
