I rather think it is a flag that is set and once set will stay set until a connection fails. Time will tell. It would explain why some, like me, never experienced a problem.
It is also the case the several of those not having the problem (at least for the majority of time), connected at all sorts of times as they were not away in a remote office all day.

I rather think it is a flag that is set and once set will stay set until a connection fails. Time will tell. It would explain why some, like me, never experienced a problem.

Do you have a theory as to what would cause such a flag to be set?
As far as I can see, nothing anyone has tried seems to have worked. The problem seems to me to have been resolved by changes at Freesat’s end. Boxes that are still poorly may have some additional factors such as user environment.

If you have, common courtesy suggests you should respond with some sort of answer.
If you still have issues that’s fine but frankly you should both not ignore previous posts. How can anyone help if either of you ignore previous posts, and actually test the suggested solution ?
As far as I can judge the problem is resolved, if it is not for you, then please post if you have tried the suggested fix.
I tried that fix, no joy.
Just had the problem on my mums box, she has no internet for a while and only realy watches tv so she did not notice. Was fustrated so i tried the following that fixed it.
– Had it connected to sat feeds and ethernet internet connection.
– factory reset stb.
– leave stb on tv for 1 hour.
– turn stb off by plug and on again.
– left stb on tv for 10 mins.
Fixed.
Dont know if all the steps above are needed think the first 3 are important. Im sure Freesat will not let this kind of issue happen again!

InactiveA flag could be set by an interaction between the firmware and freesat’s servers. Perhaps ‘connect automatically’ retries it and a power cycle clears it? Just speculation after seeing freesats list of how to solve the problem.
User environment should not be a problem for anyone who can play IPlayer programmes.
Wait and see.

Nothing seemed / seems to be consistently successful.

User environment is one variable which differs from user to user and could therefore conceivably be a contributing factor in a mystery problem that affects only a handful of theoretically identical boxes running theoretically identical software interacting in a narrowly prescribed manner with the same servers. My software version says 2.02.01 Is this what everyone else has whose boxes are working?

You can receive a IPlayer programme on 901?

InactiveYes I did the power-down cycles, along with the connect automatically cycles, several times. Tried a factory reset and did them again. And yes I can get iPlayer on channel 901 and it streams nicely.
On Demand was working when we first set up the box, perhaps a month or so ago I think?

Bebox is what Be used to call their router – regardless of the make. I’ve always assumed Humax were using it in the same generic sense, perhaps intending to come back eventually and replace it with the ID of the actual router found. ICBW

I sent Freesat an email detailing the problems I was having (posted earlier in this thread). The reply is…
“Thank you for your email.
We appreciate your feedback with regards to the recent firmware update, I will pass this over to our development team who will then take this under advisement which may result in changes to the firmware on future updates.”
