Just FYI. It seems that the temporary fix lasts for a few hours before the system updates itself and reverts back to a disappearing search grid. Last night the fix had disappeared by 8pm. I reinstalled it and by 8am this morning it had gone again. I’ve reinstalled again and will see how long it lasts this time.
After the reinstall, mine worked all day and evening (including a deliberate period in standby) but by this morning it was broken again.

I have just checked and this time I was presented with the login/account page and not taken straight to the home page, so I thought perhaps there had been some app update YouTube end but all the information is exactly the same.
YouTube search still currently functional.

Managed a whole day and evening with an operational search facility yesterday, after applying the fix at 8am. As SSThing posted it seems as if the fix only disappears overnight.
Yes, definitely seems to be related to the “overnight housekeeping”,whatever that entails.
Can now offer freesat owners a link to new software for YouTube fix which you can upload to your units – HB1000/1100S, HDR1000/1100S
If you want it PM me with the model of freesat unit i.e. HB or HDR
Note – this is a new software version so units will not revert to older version overnight and therefore render the fix useless.
I will check for new PM’s on the Hour.
Just recently I ma having difficulty using the On Demand YouTube site.
I can play suggested videos that pop up when I enter YouTube but is I try to search:-
First the search screen apears with the alphabet all visible but when I shift accross to type in the seach all letters vanish.
I have rebooted and its still the same.
I have read about Humax and Freesat are no longer in partnership and that Humax will stop production of Freesat boxes it that the reason?
FOURCARRZ: Please see the many previous posts and also the recent one from Barry mentioning new software for Freesat users.
Just lately when I try to type in a search on YouTube player as soon as I go to start all of the letter grid disappears from the screen just leaving the Space Clear,Search tabs. What has gone wrong?

I am having the following problems with the youtube app on my FVP 5000T box, the problems are cannot use the search when I try all the letters disappear, also find that cannot use the menu down the left hand side of the screen.
Any help would be great.

All have the same issues.
Humax are working on a fix. Barry has offered a fix for the 2nd generation Freesat (smart) boxes which has solved this on my HDR-1000S.
Hopefully it will not be long before your box is fixed.

Please send me software solution link you mention in one of your threads to sort YouTube app search engine problem which you apparently have for Humax Freesat Box model HDR1100S This is the model I have.
