InactiveBarry, I now know why my side port didn’t work. When I tried the fix the first time I hadn’t unpacked the zip file….

InactiveThis is something between a workaround and a bit of technical insight, in that the search ‘letters’ are still there and working – just that you can’t see them.
Applying a bit of a ‘battleships’ approach in working out where the next letter is; ie go three across then two down, brings your target letter up top left of the screen. And when you select, the letters return – until you move your cursor.

Do you know how to update a 5000/4000T box from a xxx.hdf file. on a usb stick ?

ModeratorUpload instructions if you are not aware of them:
1. Download the latest software version and save it to an empty USB memory stick.
2. Please make sure the software is saved in the root of the USB stick.
3. Insert the USB memory stick into FVP-5000T USB port.
4. Please press Home -> Settings -> System Settings -> System Information -> and press ‘OK’ button on Check New Software.
5. When the download progress stops it may take up to 5 minutes for it to restart so ‘DO NOT TURN OFF FVP-5000T’
Para 5 is important, wait for the unit to reboot, for example my 5000T took approx 4 mins, my 4000T took approx 3mins 30 seconds.

InactiveSorry to report that as of around 9pm last night both my 4000T and 5000T have reverted to the search grid disappearing when I click on it, ie: how it was before I downloaded the fix. Anyone else experienced this?

ModeratorI think units are reverting to older software, just uploaded the test software again and search works.
As a result of this no longer offering the test software via PM for time being.

InactiveI have just checked the “app version” of YouTube on my 4000t (updated yesterday but not working today) and then reinstalled the update to the working version (as of now) and the versions are reported to be identical.

ModeratorIt is the opera browser that is updated.
I think all Humax units since the advent of the portal have this browser included in software, but stand to be corrected.

Yes, this was only a test software version.
Humax Towers have acknowledged my report of problems.

InactiveI have just checked and this time I was presented with the login/account page and not taken straight to the home page, so I thought perhaps there had been some app update YouTube end but all the information is exactly the same.
YouTube search still currently functional.
